Hey op, how about a compromise? Give Crimea to Russia but add a modifier + 90 to minimum local autonomy and - 5 diplomatic reputation or something. Hell, you can even give it local coring cost +999% so that Russia would be overextended.

Give crimea to Russia. Just because it isn't recognized, doesn't mean they don't physically own it. Recognition is on paper and in people's minds, while ownership is objective and material

Darkshield You have a right. Germans had this idea from times of clausewitz. Brest Litovsk simply was sinister realisation of their evil german grayish agenda. Ukraine is no real country. It is german strategists wet dream that unforutnatly came to realisation. But soon they will disapear.

I would like to point out, while not myself defending the actions of the Ukrainian government that Ukraine was not created by Germany and owned Crimea for more than half a century.

The Ukrainians declared independence shortly before the treaty of Brest Litovsk which mearly forced Soviet Russia to recognise the independance of Ukraine

Ukraine continued to exist in a limited way within the Soviet Union and in 1954 Crimea was tranfered from Russia to the Ukraine and when the Soviet union decentralised and eventually dissolved, the Ukraine governed Crimea directly

however, all of this having been said Crimea is apart of Russia and Russia governs Crimea now, almost every country accepts that Crimea is apart of Russia, but they condemn the reason for its integration into Russia

Ukriane was not a country until the Germans created the state in the treaty of Brest Litovsk in 1917... There was no Ukrainian nation in history, never. It is a fake nation, and a fake nationality. The people of Crimea are Russian, and joined Russia out of fear of Ukrainian neo nazis that had taken power in the Maidan coup. Look at Eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian army is bombing civillians with Grad rockets. Nobody talks about it in the west because they were the ones who created the coup and cant accept that they created a neo nazi state. Their slogan is Slava Ukraini, Geroyam Slava which means glory to ukriane, glory to the heros... Sound familiar? They have pictures of stepan bandera in the ukrainian parliament. You know, the guy who cooperated with the nazis to kill ethinic poles, jews, and ukrainians and russians... WTF?
