UPDATE: VERIFIED WORKING IN EXPERIMENTAL 8.0.

It works ridiculously well, just make sure you get the solar panels lined up right. It might even work with just 2 panels, or 4 of the smaller ones. I will test it and upload when done. I might try to make a minimum resources build of this if I can figure it out, and get it as low an unlock level as possible.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:

A basic, solar-powered greenhouse, originally constructed by Neeka and upgraded to 7.x by me.

Neeka's original was unlock level 10 and ran off of a generator; this version is pure solar-power and reduced to a level 3 unlock. This version has also been upgraded for proper air-tight specs and O2 ventilation; I also removed the O2 Station. So long as the base is properly East-West oriented (if you can get its rotation set to 0,0,0 you're perfect) and has nothing casting shadows on the solar panels, it should *always* create more power than it needs, even with only 4 panels. Added as well are 2 T1 fridges, 1 Food Processor, and 4 cargo boxes. The core, as well, has been buried 2 levels deep; as such when you spawn it you will want to lower it into the ground until just the top quarter or so of the foundation is visible.

I've thought about just putting wood walls on the ground level and first level of curved glass, in the same shapes as the windows, so they can just be replaced as resources warrant.

Taking it down to only maybe 9 grow plots would be best. That way the players can add more as they go and their needs grow.
I agree with the silicon count. Unless you hit a good ore node, it would be hard to get a lot of silicon. On the other hand, most constructors can convert rock to silicon.

I'm actually kinda terrified at how energy efficient this little thing is. I'm thinking I might rework this, take out a lot of the glass and some/all of the grow plots, see how low I can get the resource requirements. Right now it takes a whole lot of silicon, and that can be hard to get at the level you can actually build this.

This is the best greenhouse blueprint I have found. I ended up adding two more 9x9 plots with grow lights in the center, and it still kept up with the power. Having 54 grow plots in this small of package makes farming those vegies really easy and no fuel maintenance. I saved the print, removing the plots initially so that it can be built quicker and the plots then added in as resources accumulate.

Glad you got it working for you! I'm thinking about trying to get it down to/build a version as low a level as I can (I mean, it's already level 3, but if I could get it as low as 1, that would be awesome).

Yep, I didn't know, I thought I had to dig a hole - my bad - awesome blueprint to be able to grow food and get lots of XP for harvest at a very low level - awesome work! Thanks!!

You don't need to dig a hole. You can raise and lower the bp with the page up and page down keys.

I can't for the live of me place this, no matter how big of a hole I dig, I can never get the bottom to go in the hole, no luck with the drone or even godmode - am I missing something?
