Solar sails! These are solar panels that look like pirate ship sails. The sail itself is paintable as well.

Hey @Spacebar, Big fan of your work, you saved me a bunch of time making sails with blocks on my pirate ship.

Question though, are you still working on this mod? and if so, is there a chance of you adding small, medium, large size sails for large grids?
-I tried to use the ones provided but they are rather small on my large grid ship :(

Hi Spacebar, loving your work! Please could you make some more variants of this mod for use as sun shades? As a Star Wars fan I thought you might appreciate what I use them for! 😉

As per your request I've taken down my update of your mod. However, I encourage you to edit the SBC files so that these sails are brought in line with the vanilla panels. Right now they use too many components and are slightly underpowered.

Actually solar sails are not propelled by any particles with mass, although thinking logically that would make since. Light sails propel a ship forward using photons that have energy and momentum, it is the transfer of this momentum that propels a ship with solar sails forward.

@Rich. Actually, solar sails are not propeled by light itself but by other smaller particles with true mass that sun emits like ionts, atoms and other stuff.
