Features and Information

  • Introduced: 1968
  • Production ends: 1976
  • Top Speed: 134
  • Power Output: 2,240 kW

Two paint schemes are included:
  • Penn Central w/ White Logo
  • Penn Central w/ White and Red Logo

The EMD SD40 was an earlier iteration of the much more popular SD40-2, and was one of the last diesel locomotives ever purchased by the Pennsylvania Railroad before their merger with the New York Central Railroad and the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad. They owned a total of 65 prior to the merger, all of which were repainted into a Penn Central paint scheme shortly thereafter.

This mod has been updated, fixing the error caused by purchasing the Penn Central white-and-red SD40. All comments regarding this issue posted thus far have been deleted.
