描述
Carved from Sandstone cliffs in the province of Bamiyan in Afghanistan, the Buddhas of Bamiyan were two enormous Buddha statues, accompanied by many more smaller statues. The statues were declared false idols by the Taliban-led government in 2001, which ordered their destruction. In March that year, the statues were dynamited. Fortunately, legends still survive about other large statues in the area, including a legendary 300 metre giant. Indeed, an 18 metre reclining buddha has been discovered. Also in the area are the world's oldest Oil Paintings, dated to the fifth century CE, the same time as the statues were constructed. Ingame, the Buddhas of Bamiyan provide +1 Faith from Desert tiles and contain a slot for a Great Work of Art or Artifact, while it must be built in a city on or next to a desert tile after Engineering has been researched.

Requires the Brave New World expansion pack, and credit to co-author Sukritact for the icon

Can you make this compatable with the workable mountains mod?

Should actually be in masonry - always keep an eye on just how many wonders you put on a tech

It would be nice, in general, if more of these had more diverse requirements (More than 1 technology, that isn't in the same tree, like the Compass and Dynamite for example) so there's more strategy to acquiring wonders and there isn't just a massive list of available wonders after every-other tech researched.

jesus this is an awful comment thread.

hey npp1992 you have no idea about christianity. remember when jesus threw the money changers out of the temple? also turning the other cheek is rooted in a lot of cultural context, it is a challenge to the aggressor to treat you as an equal and is an incredible insult. you sound like some honey-sucking Dawkins troll. grow up. also neat wonder but I think it's a little OP, since it's essentially a pantheon belief.

Does this stack with the Desert Folkore pantheon?

I find it is not the religion, but the people who are the problem. Religion can be a handy excuse, since it is always possible to interpret them in many ways. Just look at the bible where it both says, "an eye for an eye" and "Turn the other cheek" We may think it is obvious which one we should follow, but if we really want something because it's convenient, we merely ignore the obvious meaning and make it say what we need.

And finally, sorry for the long post. But I find that brief commentaries on a subject as sensitive as religion often create more strife than it resolves.
