Dune: Awakening starts off as a fantastic game with a gripping story and plenty of early content to enjoy. The initial quests are engaging and immersive, pulling you into the world of Dune. However, the experience falls apart in the end-game, where mechanics feel repetitive and heavily favour dedicated guilds that play 24/7.

Another major issue is the base maintenance system, which forces players to log in frequently to pay taxes or fuel shields, punishing those with limited playtime. It’s a shame because I loved the game’s potential, but the player base seems to have dwindled due to these time-intensive demands. If the developers added offline base protection or more varied end game content, it could have been a standout title.

Edit: Sony did a climb down on the PSN policy. I am glad common sense prevailed. Get this game, the devs have done an awesome job of supporting the community, however their community manager opinions are questionable at best.

It is actually an awesome game and there was a glimmer of hope for gamer's, unfortunately forcing me to sign up to the PlayStation network is a step too far. What shame :(

Astrox Imperium although still in early access has a hell of a lot of content and that all important "Just a couple more minutes" addictiveness. Take Eve online and remove the online bit for a more relaxed and entertaining take on all good things spacey.

The dev(s) are very active and there seems to be an update nearly every week, sometimes even sooner and are very responsive to the community. I am looking forward to the development and final release of this game and would urge everyone to buy it and support the team!

So let’s review Master of Orion, the rebooted offering from NGD studios. I have a love hate relationship with 4x games and often get the feeling that they all offer the same gaming experience. You get tech trees, alien species, anomaly bonus crates and a thin veneer of a story which is fluffed out by how you go about your galactic business. Weather it’s uniting factions with your diplomatic hippy powers or crushing your enemy’s with fleets of alien ♥♥♥♥ kicker ships. You can pretty much do as you will.

Master of Orion or Moo as it’s funny acronymic title is okay for a 4x title. I see it as more of an entry level 4x game. It has nice cut scenes, fairly in-depth tactical space battles and a Klingon traitor doing the voice overs. The problem I had with the game is I just couldn’t get in to it. After the first opening moves (or turns) everything just seemed to slot into generic 4x. The thing is I’ve played Distant Worlds which is a huge real time 4x game. Okay DW has graphics that would make a C64 blush but it has enormous depth and customisation. I’m not bashing Moo but just warning seasoned veterans of the genre that Moo in my opinion won’t satiate that galactic empiric feel you get from other 4x titles.
So on to the obligatory pros and cons:
PROS:
Michael Dorn
Nice art assets and animations
The races are pretty well thought out but limited
A solid entry level 4x game

CONS:
Generic 4x gameplay
Pretty limited tech tree
Not enough ship and general customisation
Evil human race is locked behind paywall? (I could be wrong)

I’m giving it a positive review because it does exactly what it says on the tin. The tin is subjective though. It may be a tin of glorious Heinz baked beans ready to be lovingly poured over some toast. Or it’s a tin of all day breakfast that you scarf down after a drinking binge that should have stopped 4 days ago.

I managed to grab this in the Steam sale for twenty pounds and thought why not?
Welcome to Call of Duty Advanced Wank Fest Gash Edition. Features include:

-Unable to detect a main monitor on PC's supporting more than 1 monitor.
- Vomit inducing capped FOV designed for console peasants.
- Utterly contrived and predictable main story.
- Famous Actor
- You play as Mark Zuckerberg
- Run across a busy highway simulator. (Better envisioned and implemented in Frogger)
- Repetitive dialogue barked at you throughout the game. Do this! Go there! Cross the street! Take more vitamins! Do your homework! Vote Conservative!
- Utterly tedious and nonsensical QTE's designed for ritalin fed children.
- Better on rail simulation than Train Simulator 2015.
- Uninstall worked 100%

Multiplayer.

- Had one guy join the lobby while waiting for a team deathmatch.
- Uninstall worked 100% again.

Highly recommend this game. It puts other FPS shooters like COD and BF to shame. Great teamwork is naturally played out and in game VOIP is often used. It also has one of the best coop modes available compared to other FPS titles.
The gun play feels right concerning weapon handling with just the amount of kick needed. Each class has a purpose and the upgrading system makes sense.

Be warned, no mini maps or nice targeting prompts a la COD, Insurgency is what a real gamer will play.
My only gripe is sometimes the collision detection with bits of scenery can be a bit wonky but this does not in anyway detract from this awesome game.

Probably not everyone's cup of tea and I predict alot of people were put off by the dismal launch but the latest version is very playable. It's a 4x turn based strategy game with fully 3d playable maps. It has some of the best fleet combat sections I have seen for this genre with lots of nice tactics to employ.

Steep learning curve with plenty to sink your teeth into, be warned though the game does start to slow down mid to late game but it's not game breaking for me.

For anyone who remembers playing the original back in 1988 this is a pretty good re-imagining and brought back lot's of nostalgia.
