This game is not "engoodened", far from it.

I had high hopes for it, after having seen the very popular YouTube video singing its praises. A mate of mine suggested we play it, so I decided to finally get it - can't be all that bad, right?
But I seemingly was very wrong indeed.

The game is a horrible amalgamation of bad UI design, an uninspired flying model and meaningless exploration of lame, randomly generated planets which bore from the first second to the last.

The flight model especially is subpar and hand-holdy to the extreme, I feel insulted that Hello Games thinks this could ever be engaging for anyone with better hand eye coordination and spacial awareness than an amoeba. Seriously.

The progression is pathetic, I have spent three hours ingame and yet no clue how anyone can call this worthwhile. I like to grind in games, I really do, but when all my choice for a reward consists of randomly generated nonsense gear as a reward for playing a subpar walking simulator set on randomly generated nonsense planets, I do not really care.

I'd rather play Elite Dangerous with its lifeless deserts and abstruse progression than this boring mess, at least the flight model there isn't as patronizingly lame and flying a ship actually lets you steer it and not just point it in the direction you want to go.

Good.

Best shootie shootie boom boom sandbox ever.

They fixxed the DLC issue.

It lets you fill the backpacks of your friends with useless junk.

I like the part where it goes "Aaaaaoaaoaaoahhh".

It's fine I guess.

Adds many new mechanics to one of my most beloved games.

Update added five new missions to the DLC Island chain, bringing them up to a total of 15.

Don't play this without portals.

Truly excellent.
