UPDATE:
I came back to update my initial review since Wanted:Dead has received a few patches since it's launch. More specifically, the combat overhaul update was the standout for me, and improved the mechanics. This further shows the amount to passion and dedication that went into making this game. The initial reception of the game was a bit rough around the edges at launch, but I thoroughly enjoy the presentation and what it's trying to accomplish. The combat unforgiving, and fun once you understand the mechanics more. Personally, I never get tired of seeing the finisher animations! There's nothing quite like it out there these days. I appreciate the devs for creating this gem of game, which is a love letter for us that grew up during the 90's/early 2000's era. I know that this type of game isn't for everyone, and it's not perfect. However, hopefully we can get more games that scratch that itch.


INITIAL REVIEW:
I was really looking forward to this game. I love the early 2000's era style theme from back when most games didn't take themselves too seriously, had to be blockbusters, or "the next best thing". I like the character's, music, the "whackyness", and overall design. But the actual combat & AI are mediocre at best. Maybe I'll give it another shot at a later date sometime.

This is a great Post-Apocalyptic based game for anyone who likes in-depth sandbox squad managment. It's not the prettiest to look at, but the mechnaics underneath are superb. The game starts off slow, and will NOT hold your hand. You WILL get defeated, A LOT. But this is one of those rare gems that rewards dedication.
