In October 2025, the game is still as beautiful and relevant as ever. It's the only triple-A game about aliens game. It's absolutely cinematic! Fantastic level design, good graphics, excellent voice acting and soundtrack (low bow to Christian Henson, Joe Henson, and Alexis Smith). The plot is worthy of a film adaptation, as the story is more dramatic than even the 1979 film.
I personally like that during the game you learn a lot about the competing organizations at Sevastopol station, their inhabitants, and their thoughts on what's happening. That there's some way to return to almost all the original locations and open all the doors.
Yes, you can criticize the game for its monotonous gameplay, some imbalances in the Alien AI, and perhaps a drawn-out plot for some...

Personally, I would have liked more interaction with the station's inhabitants, and full-fledged dialogue. Speaking of downsides, I must mention the game's DLC, it's simply not worth it. Much, much more effort could have been invested in it.
I would also like a virtual reality mode for complete immersion :)

It's a shame the game wasn't popular at its launch in 2014 and apparently didn't recoup its investment sufficiently.
