Hotfix Patch Notes | Project Judas - April 1st

Greetings Reagents,

Our team has worked on a hotfix patch addressing the following issues that will be rolling out on all platforms:

Fixed missing text on some customization items.
Fixed an issue where ping could be abnormally high in certain regions (PS5).
Fixed an issue where the game could occasionally get stuck in a reconnection loop.
Removed the score penalty for Imposters when Reagents escape during an Invasion. (The note remains visible in the Murkoff report for reference.)
Removed the “Stay Together” variator from the allowed pool for the Trial “Escape the Lies” (Escalation / Trial Maker).
Fixed a rare issue where the game could crash when an Imposter joined or left an Invasion match.
Fixed an issue where clues could be obstructed by pushable objects in the Trial “Silence the Idol”.
Fixed an issue where players could lose a cassette when scrolling quickly through their inventory in the Trial “Silence the Idol”.
Fixed an issue where cassettes did not display the correct icon when dropped in the Trial “Silence the Idol”.
Fixed various issues with the Barricade Rig.

INVEST IN YOUR SERVERS

It really sucks cus this is like my favourite game and Red Barrels are one of the developers I respect and admire the most. But Red Barrels needs to put some of that money they're getting from plushies, merch and game sales back into the game. For a game that's strictly online, these servers are dreadful; constant rubber-banding, enemy hits connecting from afar, disconnects, general lag, stuttering when pushing a snitch or tv station camera. Remove/Rework bad Trip

I think almost everyone who plays this game new or vet can agree that bad trip is the worst Variator in the game. Now I have nothing against reduced sanity or hallucinations, however, the fish eye alcohol vision with the obnoxious noise spam is some of the worst ♥♥♥♥ put in a video game since their creation. Not to mention the sound bugs out about 60% of the time putting you in a permanent audio nerf. Really I just want this post to gain traction so maybe the devs will see it and consider removing or rew...

if you're dumb don't play

tired of dealing with people who afk bc they can't figure out a trial or a map. i try to help by pinging and telling them to come to me, but some people would rather camp a hiding spot the entire time. just had to carry an entire bozo team but ended up leaving bc all they did was sit in a locker/under the desk. EDIT: I never "spammed" anything. I pinged the objective once to show them where to drop the drugs off. I physically told them once. They gave me the thumbs up then just ran in a locker and stayed ...

Hotfix Patch Notes | Project Judas - March 26th

Greetings Reagents,

A hotfix patch is currently deploying that will address the following issues:

Fixed an issue where the Berserker could spawn under the map in certain situations.
Fixed an issue where Barricades could permanently block doorways if deployment was interrupted while an enemy was bashing them.
Fixed an issue where Barricades interruption cooldown was 10s instead of the intended 3s.
Fixed an issue where Barricades did not behave as intended with the Limited Rigs variator.
Fixed an issue where X-Ray cooldown was incorrect in Psychosurgery difficulty.
Fixed an issue where parts of Deluxe Outfits were visible in first person.
Fixed an issue where the Healing Rig was not consumed if swapped with another Rig while in-use (Salvage Rigs variator).

We also wanted to address some things that were brought up since yesterday's launch.

The Project Judas update brought in a change to the Tinnitus filter found in your player settings, so if you feel like your audio is muffled in-game, please adjust that setting to your liking as it is now working as intended.
The \[REDACTED] Trial will remain in Genesis indefinitely!
In order to give our Reagents a smooth start to their therapy, we have made it so that Invasions cannot happen in the new Trials: "Silence the Idol", "Solve the Murder", "REDACTED". Invasion will be re-enabled on these Trials in the future.

玩了一天有点上头了，逃生系列真不愧是神中神，技能小静步功不可没，稳稳地带我单通重生，就是电池用得太多了，夜视仪勉强能看清一点但又不完全黑暗。
1级的时候竟然有人邀请我加入小队，也是狠狠地倒地去逝了呃，老哥也是不离不弃倒了就来拉人，有点对不住拉低了全队评分，打完后也是不好意思的退了自己单刷熟练熟练。
在自己刷冲破封锁时也是狠狠地满地得吃: ），最后还是得蹭车队美美的把等级升起来，把我的眩晕给升满了。
逃生试炼还是有难度的，既要找任务，又要在不熟路的情况躲猫猫，地上门上也有陷阱等着大伙来吃，没有技能辅助很难玩得开

It's time to adjust your Murkoff Television sets for the feature presentation: Project Judas. This Season, you will get to feast your eyes on the Kress Twins attempt at political takeover! Otto and Arora have prepared quite the show for you all in their new Trial Environment the Television Studio. Enjoy new MK-Challenges, survive the Scavenger Limited-Time Event, test out Noakes' hard work on the X-Ray and Barricade Rig reworks, and climb the Invasion Leaderboard and more...

Season 6: PROJECT JUDAS

Project Judas sees the return of Otto & Arora Kress in a new Trial Environment, the Television Studio. The Kress Twins have meticulously groomed Bob Vanier, celebrity talking head and idol to the masses, to be their upcoming political candidate. Molded to their best interests, Vanier is about to announce his political run live on the air, unless Reagents are able to seat Murkoff’s own candidate instead.

New Trial: SILENCE THE IDOL

You are the electric eye, the ravenous panopticon that births and consumes with the same razor-toothed orifice. Tear, burn, and crush the face of false charisma, and we will let you out.

New MK-Challenge: SOLVE THE MURDER

You are the fetishist, whose obsession with the totems of violence allows you to define more convenient truths. Find the evidence to condemn our chosen killer, and we will let you out.

New MK-Challenge: \[REDACTED]

There appears to be an issue with the Sleep Room Terminal. Reagents are asked to ignore any unconventional programs that may populate their screens. Disregard any mention of [c]\[redacted][/c]. Therapy is the only way to real freedom.

New Deluxe Catalog: PROJECT JUDAS

The new Deluxe Catalog Project Judas is now available.

This Catalog is filled with 10 pages of new exclusive cosmetic items for your own self expression.
Unlock the Deluxe Catalog using Murkoff Coins, earned by completing the Onboarding Catalog, other Deluxe Catalogs, or they can be purchased in the Murkoff In-Game Store.
Acquire Stamps by completing Trials and Tasks, then use the Stamps to obtain the Deluxe Catalog items.
As a reminder, the Deluxe Catalogs are available permanently. Unlock items at your own pace.

New Limited-Time Event: SCAVENGER

Prepare for the \[REDACTED] collapse. Enter the Trials with nothing and salvage unstable, single-use Rigs from Reagent corpses. Collect discarded mechanical components and return them to drop boxes to be used for the \[REDACTED] of \[REDACTED].

Program Scavenger Variators:

Salvage Rigs: Salvage unstable, single-use Rigs from deceased subjects throughout the Trial.
Broken Reagent: Reagents have no starting Rigs, no Prescription, no Amps, reduced Night Vision battery, and start injured.
Deliver the Components: Reagents are required to locate and deliver mechanical components to a salvage box.

Event Schedule:

Part 1 will take place from March 24, 2026 @ 10am ET - April 7, 2026 @ 9:59am ET
Part 2 will take place from April 7, 2026 @ 10am ET - April 21, 2026 @9:59am ET

X-Ray and Barricade Rigs Rework

Noakes has been busy collecting feedback on its creation, and has greatly improved both the X-Ray and Barricade Rigs.

X-RAY RIG

Developer Comment: X-Ray previously felt too passive, offering limited control due to its fixed duration. With this rework, we want Reagents to play a more active role in gathering and sharing intelligence.

X-Ray is now a toggle ability, allowing players to use it on demand. The ping system has been expanded, enabling multiple targets to be marked through walls, making it a powerful tool for team coordination.

Additionally, X-Ray now introduces a more tangible gameplay impact by temporarily disabling nearby traps, reinforcing its role as both a reconnaissance and support tool.

New Description: Tactical enhancement that allows vision through solid surfaces, revealing points of interest. Can be toggled on or off on demand.

Changes:

X-Ray is now a toggle ability (On/Off).
Charge depletes while active and replenishes slowly while inactive.
Cooldown/energy system functions similarly to Night Vision.
New upgrade PING THROUGH: “Ping enemies and objects through walls while X-Ray is active. Multiple pings can be active at once.”
New upgrade ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD: “Generates an electromagnetic field while X-Ray is active, preventing trap activation.”
New upgrade FASTER RECHARGE: “Decreases X-Ray recovery time.”
New upgrade INCREASED CAPACITY: “Increase X-Ray total capacity.”
Upgrades RESOURCES INTEL and CLASSIFIED INTEL have been merged and the upgrade is now called RECON: “X-Ray highlights nearby objectives, consumables, and high-priority items.”
Upgrade SHARED INTEL has been removed.

BARRICADE RIG

Developer Comment: Barricade was previously too situational and difficult to use effectively due to its limitations. This rework introduces a charge-based system, allowing Reagents to carry multiple Barricades (2 by default, 3 when upgraded) and deploy them strategically to control space.

Barricades are now instantly refunded when removed by the player or a teammate, and their durability has been increased. They also damage enemies when broken, making them more impactful even when destroyed.

We’ve expanded deployment opportunities across Trials (including additional placements, rolling gates, windows, etc.), and added visual markers to guide players toward valid placement spots. This allows Reagents to quickly assess an area and make tactical decisions.

Finally, the cooldown now begins only after all Barricades are deployed, preserving the value of the Rig Rechargers while encouraging more active use of the ability.

New Description: Place barricades to block openings and delay pursuers. Carry 2 barricades. Removal instantly refunds them.

Changes:

Players now carry multiple Barricades (2 by default, 3 when upgraded).
Multiple barricades can be deployed at once (oldest breaks when placing a new one beyond the limit).
Barricades are instantly refunded if destroyed or removed by the player or a teammate.
Rig Cooldown starts only after all Barricades are placed.
Removing a Barricade during cooldown immediately stops the cooldown and refunds it.
Inventory UI updated to support multiple Barricades counter.
New HUD markers appear at location of valid Barricade deployment spots.
Enemies and Invaders now require more hits to break barricades.
Upgrade INCOMING WARNING has been revamped: “Enemy is automatically pinged and damaged upon breaking a barricaded door. Invaders are exhausted.”
Upgrade FRIENDLY BREACH has been replaced by BREACH & RUSH: “Breaking a barricade grants an adrenaline boost (once every 60 seconds).”
Upgrade EXTRA BARRICADE now increases max Barricade carried to 3.

New Invasion Season Begins

The Invasion Rankings seasonal rewards have been refreshed. All players start from the start and must climb their way to Gold I to receive all new rewards.

Introducing Invasion Leaderboards

Show your Invasion skills to the world and climb the Seasonal Leaderboard. Access the new Leaderboard directly via the Invasion menu.

New Blackmarket Outfits

New Outfits have been delivered to the Murkoff Blackmarket In-Game Store! Once again, Reagents who purchase any Murkoff Coins for the first time during Season 6 will obtain the Desert Debris Outfit.

Twitch Drop Event

Reagents will be able to take advantage of an all new Twitch Drops campaign in celebration of the launch of Season 6: Project Judas! Watch The Outlast Trials streams to acquire exclusive Twitch Drop items from March 24th at 10am ET to April 21st at 9:59am ET. All streams of The Outlast Trials are eligible for Drops. Additions/Fixes/Balancing

Adjusted Scoring, Tasks and Achievements related to Barricade and X-Ray Rigs.
Adjusted Terminal Main Screen to show player icons and frames.
Added unique ping icon for Big Grunt enemy.
Fixed an issue where stamina wouldn’t regenerate when an Imposter was attacked by an enemy while being exhausted.
Revisited rarities for cosmetics. They are now based on their source of acquisition. The new rarities are:
- Standard - Trial Rewards, Therapy Levels, Badges, Standard Catalog.
- Event - Events Rewards, Event Catalogs, Routine Therapies.
- Deluxe - Deluxe Catalogs, Store, DLCs.
- Classified - Genesis, Progression, Rebirth, Twitch Drops, etc.
Trial Maker:
- Added variator “Nostophobia”.
- Added variator “Salvage Rigs”.
- Added variator “Broken Reagent”.
- Added variator “Collect the Components”.
Fixed an issue with the Tinnitus Filter option not working correctly.
Various other bug fixes and improvements implemented.
