This is THE SCARIEST game i've ever played. ♥♥♥♥ your pants terrifying sort of scary. The atmosphere, graphics and sound design are just phenominal. Tried playing it in VR once and almost had a heart attack. Perfectly captures the essence of Alien and perfects the Xenomorph design.

Even though this game easily remains one of the undisputed best horror games ever made after all those years, I honestly don't recommend it to anyone, even to those who are hardcore horror fans. This is not your average run and gun, zombies, monsters, haunted environment bla bla bla game. It's extremely stressful and it was programmed to be unpredictable no matter the difficulty you play this game on, It's absolutely terrifying because the Alien can pop out at any time and all you hear is its footsteps knowing if you make any noise or a single wrong move, you're finished.

The Alien will fool you as if it didn't see you, then jumps on you when you don't expect it. It'll bait you into its traps, and you can hear it hissing, growling, and screeching all over the place. It'll adapt to your tactics and learn fast how to counter your playstyle. Even the environment itself is very tense, for example the doors sound effects are very close to the Alien's sounds so you'd think it's behind you or near you.

Alien Isolation plays mind games with you all the time, and you have to be alert with nerves of steel otherwise pick something else.

One of the best horror games ever made.

I’ve beaten it a few times on console and bought it on pc recently, every playthrough that I have done have always been enjoyable.

The graphics look great for a game that came out in 2014, and the retro-futuristic aesthetic perfectly matches the original Alien movie, and if you're into such aesthetic you will end up loving it, each level looks amazing but some levels were just simply stunning to look at.

The story and characters are well written and it fits nicely between the first two films. Nothing that big to the point it's groundbreaking, but it fits enough that is respectful to the Alien franchise. It even seals up a plothole from the movie Aliens which I wont say (spoiler reasons).

The soundtrack itself is absolutely amazing. Many of the tracks feel like a they could fit right in on the original films, and if you loved those then you will most definitely love this score, especially the scores during the last few missions.

The gameplay is amazing as a survival horror game. Most tools are useful besides some of them being heavy on items in order to craft them but are still useful nonetheless, the weapons you get are useful against the androids and humans, but the xenomorph unlike the other threats is a complete monster that you can only scare away temporarily, while he isn't always around if you're loud enough he will show up. Nothing beats the feeling of being hunted for most of the game by the xenomorph forcing you to be careful not making much noise or being mindful with how you use your gadgets. The stealth is great, and the AI for the xenomorph is so well designed to make the player switch up their way of playing. The devs definetly put great work into the Ai.

The atmosphere is tense. The sound designs are well made whether it's the ambience, xenomorph, or the station itself, they're all amazing. Only game where the sounds make me hide for a long time inside a locker or under a table waiting for the xenomorp to make a sound in the vents just to be sure I am safe to go to the objective or move around.

Downsides:
I really didn't encounter anything bad besides a small bug or glitch? That didn't allowed me to save during the ending mission, but it got quickly fixed by restarting the game.

TL;DR
If you are into horror games and love the Alien franchise, then this game is a must for you. It’s a masterpiece that was made by people who clearly love the franchise, and did they're reasearch in order to keep it as loyal to the franchise. Truly had a great time playing this game.
