This game has been the bane and the reason for my existence for over 100 hours. It's punishing and it's rewarding. Don't Starve is not quite a rogue-like game, but much more of a survival game, and, as the title implies, involves the player/s fighting for their lives. It's a little more than not starving though - there's plenty of fighting and building to do within the game, along with managing your sanity and preparing for the dreaded winter. In the meantime, you'll be fightings spiders, hounds, trees and even undescribable monsters. The world is against you. You should buy this game.

He looks like a deer. Why wouldn't you pay 99 cents to play as a deer knight?

A cute and simplistic beat-em-up, Castle Crashers will challenge you to the very end. Finding all the weapons and hidden characters is probably worth your time, but unless if you're a maniac, don't bother leveling all characters to level 100. The only place this game suffers is in the multiplayer, which does add to the fun, yet has had its moments where significant framerate drops occur. Despite this, still a fun game to come back to.

Banished is a pretty good game, but it is very intensive on your attention and resource-managing skills. If you slip up, you get punished heavily, and it takes a long time to get back up and running. All the while being very nice to look at and fun to play for a few hours on end, it might actually be worth the price tag if you're willinging to watch your many workers perish.

Starbound is a sandbox/sci-fi RPG, where you take the role as a Protector, a being sworn to protect the universe from harm. Equipped with your trusty Matter Manipulator, you can traverse an entire galaxy of stars and planets and do as you please.

It's fairly easy to draw parallels between Starbound and Terraria; they both have a linear progression with bosses and equipment upgrades that require you to traverse more dangerous areas to acquire, they both have free-form building, farming, housing NPCs, mining, fishing and fighting.

The biggest difference with Starbound, is that there is a lot more procedural generation in this game. Pretty much everything is random, notably the star map, planets, local enemies and weapons. You'll be hard pressed to find two planets with the exact same elements.

The building is fairly straight-forward, but you can build more interesting and unique structures by exploring planets, learning blueprints and scanning objects. Blueprints and objects will allow you to re-create the objects at your base using materials and currency. There are over 1,000 printable items in the game, and even more that can be crafted or extracted, allowing a large creative freedom. You can make structures even more complex by painting and wiring them, or enhance your game by installing mods from the workshop (but this is optional).

It should be noted that if playing on Survival difficulty, eating is required meaning that you will need to juggle exploration, mining, building and farming in order to progress and stay alive. It is possible to live entirely off cooked or tinned meats, but an extensive cooking list is available which provides temporary buffs and more potent satiation.

The game also gets very interesting since it is entirely possible to complete the main storyline purely by farming or housing, as you can buy bars shortly after the game starts. It's also not required at all to put a hoe to dirt to survive the length of the game, allowing a variety of playstyles.

It should be noted that some players reported frame losses and/or crashes. While I did experience one crash and some poor performance including NPCs slowing down (but not myself), for 90% of my playthrough I was at 60FPS on a four year-old laptop, so even garbage can run this game decently. I reccomend this if you're a fan of Terraria.
