I just purchased this game over the weekend and it is amazing. I love the crafting and base building. There was a event where I entered a system and saved a capital ship from pirates and they gave me the use of their ship. Talking to the aliens requires learning their language. I've got about 24 hours in the game at the time of this review and I feel like I have only scratched the surface of this game.

The best way for me to sum this game up is Fallout 4 settlements in space.

The only thing that would make this game better is a way to design my own ship and not just the base on a capital ship.
