I am writing this review as I just made it into ACT III.

If you were to go to my game library, you would see that I spend the overwhelming majority of my time playing multiplayer and FPS games, as compared to single-player, fantasy, and story-driven games. To say this game has entranced me does not at all come close to accurately describing just how much I love this game.

On the rare occasion that I find a single-player, story-driven game that I genuinely enjoy, I end up not completing the story because I don’t want the story to end, and this game is both fortunately and unfortunately going to end up being that game for me.

The choices you are given—from race, class, subclass, and checks—almost EVERYTHING you do has a direct influence on the story, yourself, your companions, and the NPCs around you. I am constantly hitting F5 to quick-save before I possibly fail a check because what my character says actually contributes to the ongoing dialogue and will affect the NPCs, how my companions view me, and how the rest of the story progresses.

I am constantly loading up saves because the game has actually made me care about my choices; this game completely immerses you in the story. I have noticed myself sitting on the edge of my seat, audibly gasping when my attacks miss, when I fail checks, or when Shadowheart spared the Nightsong because I genuinely did not expect her to do that, or when I figured out my "protector" was the Emperor??

Did I mention the soundtrack? No? The soundtrack is absolutely amazing. I don’t think I have heard another soundtrack that has helped pull the player further into the game like this one.

Because of this game, I am now getting into DND, a game I have never played before and have no experience with at all.

If I finish the game, I will probably be back here to finish the review. If you are thinking about purchasing this game and playing it, but are having doubts, then this is YOUR sign to buy it and play it.

EDIT: I cant bring myself to end the story. 10/10 great game.
