This is brilliant. Love the Bloodborne references, the low poly ps1 aesthetic is spot on, and to top it off it's actually a really fun kart game. Definitely worth a play.

The game keeps getting better with every update, definitely worth playing if you like sci-fi/space exploration themes and resource gathering and crafting.

This game had high expectations as the sequel to the popular 'You Have To Win The Game', a retro-style indie platformer / MetroidVania available for free right here on Steam. Personally, I think it delivers.

Gameplay wise the game is an extension on the original, with a greater variety of areas to explore, as well as a new overworld map for travelling between areas. There is also a more structured attempt at a storyline this time around. I think this game was a little easier than the first, although there are still some very challenging areas that will take multiple attempts to progress through.

The game retains the MetroidVania style item-collecting and backtracking through previously visited areas with new abilities in order to collect missed stuff and reach more new areas. The game itself is not too long (although much longer than the original), so it never felt boring having to go back to areas too much, I finished it in about 5 hours although I think it could be done much faster than this if you know the path to take, and like the first game this could lend itself well to speedrunning.

Graphically, the game is a near-perfect homage to the NES era of home consoles, the visual design has not-too-subtle hints of Zelda II (not to mention the overworld map and the layout of towns and dungeons are clear references to this game). The game looks lovely on it's own, but I have to commend the developer for their CRT TV simulation which is even better than it was in the first game, and really adds to that retro feel.

I have to highlight the music in the game as well, which is just wonderful, anyone who likes retro game music or chiptunes in general will absolutely love this soundtrack.

Overall I highly reccomend this game, and would urge anyone that had fun with 'You Have To Win The Game' to check it out!

An incredibly fun little game. Highly reccomended for fans of the retro aesthetic, platform games, and 'Metroidvania' style gameplay.

For a free game, there's quite a lot here, and you will need to do a couple of playthroughs to see everything. It's a fairly short game that lends itself well to speedrunning. It's quite a challenging game too, some of the rooms are pretty tricky and you will likely die a whole bunch of times on the way through (fortunately the game is quite lenient and doesn't punish you too much for dying, with frequent checkpoints dotted around).

Looks wise, the graphics are a very lovely tribute to the CGA era of PC gaming and the game genuinely looks like it could have been lovingly crafted in the 1980's. The CRT monitor effect is also very nice and something I wish more games like this could have.

Overall, this game is fantastic and free, that's a great combination in my view!

An absolutely abysmal game with virtually no redeeming qualities. There is absolutely no reason to get this game. If you do get it, brace yourself for control issues, weak gameplay, limited content, frequent bugs and crashes, and general lack of a good time.

Admittedly a concept like this will raise a few eyebrows. It's a game about driving trucks between towns and delivering cargo. Pretty dull, right?

Except it's somehow not. I'm not quite sure how to explain that. But this is a great game for those moments when you have some time to kill but don't feel like playing anything too intense. I enjoy playing this before winding down at the end of a weekend for example.

The map of Europe in the game is obviously scaled down from real life, but this simply makes the game playable - although it's got Simulator in the title there are some gamey concessions here such as time compression, scaled down routes, experience points and unlockable upgrades on leveling up, and a career system. You will make your own trucking company and ultimately be able to hire additional drivers and amass a fortune for your logistics empire.

The driving experience is pretty laid back, the trucks feel nice to drive but it's easy to screw up if you're not paying attention as cars on the road are much smaller than your truck and can be easy to miss if you're close to them. You will be penalised for causing accidents as well as breaking rules of the road including getting caught on camera speeding and going through red lights. The driving feels good though, and I would highly recommend using the built in radio player to get some local flavor on your travels. Parking the truck can be a right pain in the rear end at times (until you get the hang of it) but you can skip this part at the cost of some experience.

Overall this is a surprisingly fun game. Those used to the 'one more' mentality of games like Civilization or Football Manager will recognise this feeling when going for 'just one more delivery' a few hours after they meant to stop playing.

This is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable games I have played in recent memory. La-Mulana is an exploration-based platform game in the tradition of MetroidVania style games. You guide the hero through an ancient ruin, gradually able to explore further inside using items and abilities you collect, and will uncover the many secrets the ruins have to offer. The environments are interesting and it's the kind of game where you will always want to push forward just a little further before you stop playing..

The way forward is not always clear though, and this game is very, very hard. Some of the puzzles have very obscure solutions, and you should expect to become stuck on more than one occasion. This is very much in the 'old-school' of games that very deliberately don't hold your hand (unless it's to throw you off a cliff...). Unless you look up a guide online (there are several) you will probably feel quite lost and unsure of where to go, or what your objective is at times. Whether you can deal with that will play a big part in whether or not you enjoy this game.

Overall though, if you like games such as Super Metroid or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but wish they were ten times harder, you'll probably enjoy this. And I would recommend at least trying to go without a guide unless you're reeealy stuck, it will feel all the more rewarding when you do finally figure out how to move on.
