I was never interested in like tabletop warhammer. However, as a fan of the Total War series, I got this, plus the first warhammer. I have absolutely no interest in warhammer lore or anything like that, however this game is amazing. After upgrading my CPU, the game is no longer choppy, and it's such a blast to play. About 130 hours into gameplay, still a new player, learning new things. Normally I don't like playing extended campaigns, but I find myself wasting a few hours on a single session of a campaign. Getting some mods that improve AI recruitment and tactics, makes the battles much harder, and enjoyable. Makes very hard campaigns a big brain meats workout.

The siege battles may not be as good as in previous titles(RIP Medieval II) but I still find them enjoyable.

There's also a mod for EVERYTHING. Don't like waiting times to build buildings or units? There's a mod. Don't want to wait 4 turns to recruit elite units? There's a mod. Do you want to achieve total domination over everything without an ounce of remorse by adding +1000 to every unit stat? There's a mod.

**EDIT** The added, kinda, multi-layered sieges. Now the sieges are no longer just on the walls, you have a chance to fall back. It's a step in the right direction. Next, just full on 360 sieges.

**EDIT EDIT** The newest DLC adds a new Dark Elf and Skaven lord. It's a pretty good dlc! But what most people are hyped about is the potion of speed update. If you're like me, either your favorite faction is only playable in mortal empires, or you just want to encounter every faction and destroy everyone. Well, what the newest update does is COMPLETELY reduce end turn times. **DOES NOT WORK WITH PREVIOUSLY STARTED CAMPAIGNS** I was on a turn 128 dwarf campaign. the dlc came out, and the turn times did not go down. You have to start a new campaign. However, the end turns make it so much easier. The old dwarf campaign end turn times at turn 128 were 5+ minutes sometimes. Now, with this new update, same turn, turn 128, MAYBE hits 30 seconds. It's so much more fun to play mortal empires. No more going to the store to get a snack, and come back and the end turn still going on (which l did). Now, I have time to look at like 2 memes on ifunny before the next turn starts. It's so much fun now! Great update! I hope this carries over to Warhammer 3, when it finally comes out!
