Nothing else like it exists.

I would recommend this game for fans of Prey and Dishonored with a touch of invasion from Dark souls and even slightly Bioshock with the dystopian world, the skills and exploration.

I enjoy the story for now, but I am hoping the game actually dives into what is happening.
The voice acting for the main character is pretty cringe and too stereotypical.
The art direction in a 60's 70's vibe mixed with modern era is very original and refreshing.

The game opens up after 4 hours. (I did explore)
A bit of a weird and slow intro.
The gun play is meh, but the rarer guns and perks are extremely fun.
It looks easy as hell at first, and then it become a lot more challenging. I wouldn't say hard but I'm still at the beginning and hoping for an increase.

The servers are utter trash.
I lag so much while invading someone and I can't shoot anyone as I am affected with massive rollback and my character even stops moving.

Love it, feels like a bioware game

It's a fun game.
It's a 2D beat them up a la Diablo and has a Darkest Dungeon artstyle.
Loot is kind of scarce though. But this was open beta with 3 maps.

Things the devs should definitely work on fixing/changing.

Allow us to keep notoriety even when group disbands.
Make matchmaking with equal power rating players.
Make it playable solo. Sometimes the teams are so damn bad it's laughable and at that point I quit the game for a bit when I would have continued if I could play solo.
Would also like skill customisation, but that could be reaching.

Closing notes. Theres something there that I think could be great if expanded well upon. Hopefully with as much support as Darkest Dungeon.
Fun with friends.

Make no mistake, this is not really a game, there is almost as much interaction in a Telltale game.
But is it worth it ?
Yes, if you like : Psychological thrillers, Horror, character development, amazing animations/graphics, and if you are looking for a Viking setting with modern story telling.
No, if you like : Action, Gameplay , and fast paced stories.
Combat is shallow and repetitive.
This game is short too 5 to 6 hours(not necessarily a bad thing as you don't want it to overstay it's welcome) .
But the ending is satisfying.
And if you hated the forced walking of Gears Of War for example then you will hate this.
I personally liked it very much. Wouldn't play it again as there is no replayability.
Would recommend to anyone, that understands all this and is ok with it.

Best Alien game out there Period. If you like Survival horror and like Alien the orginal movie. Get it with your eyes closed.
Pros : - Scary alien , watching it walk past you while you are hiding under a table , and seeing his physics based tail drag behind him , the feeling is priceless.
- Good protagonist , you root for her.
- Atmosphere , here it is probably the best i've seen in a game in a long time. Design , architecture , sparks , smoke. Greatly executed. You feel like you are in a big version of the Nostromo.
- Strong crafting System a la Last of Us , useful and not gamebreaking.
- Save system Creates a lot of tension.
- Better plot than prometheus.
- Marlow bits (spoiler) sense of wonder and excitement in those levels , even if they are more on rails.

Cons : - The scares are based on you which is also a pro , but if you just run around with your flame thrower and you play in the middle of the afternoon , and you are not in the right mood to get scared you probably won't be. Wait for night time , turn the volume way up , and immerse yourself by suspending your disbelief. Best experience ever.
- Don't blame the game for your mistakes , you are not playing Dead Space , be patient and observe, listen. Not for everyone.
- I wish the Alien wasn't a Drone but a queen or a special breed. It would add more sense of urgency to try to get rid of him.
- Backtracking (Metroid Style) , you unlock a tool you can now access that door you couldn't before at the beginning. There is a fast travel system , but some people might not like that type of stuff.


Conclusion. This game is made by fans for the fans and you can feel it. If you were hoping for a better Colonial Marines , this is not the game for you. But if you feel the Alien franchise is important to you , I can tell you it was important to the devs too, and it shows.

Recommandation : Buy it for the Tension and the Story , it is not a groundbreaking game , but the Atmosphere man , wow....
