An incredible VR shooter.

Overall a great shooter, with fun weapons, cool enemy design and an impeccable art style and design aesthetic. Would recommend highly to anyone with a VR headset.

Battlebit is... kind of one of those rare enigmas that suddenly appears and takes the gaming market by siege.

It's essentially if you took Battlefield, threw it in with SQUAD and some paint thinner in a blender, blended them and then beat it with a hammer like a blacksmith and then bolted on Planetside 2 player counts on top of it and then threw an ass load of destruction mechanics into it. That's Battlebit for you in a nutshell.

It's incredibly dense with content already, sporting a pretty large map pool, lots of weapons and equipment and is practically a fully playable multiplayer large scale teamplay shooter.

Very fun with friends too, especially if one of you is decent at leading a Squad.

It's weak points however are definitely the graphics and imo the gunplay. I can see this game becoming another game where most people who play it become meta slaves trying to optimize the absolute ♥♥♥♥ out of their loadouts to one up each other's TTK by milliseconds. Which'll suck ass when it does happen.

The gunplay is largely weak in terms of recoil mechanics, a lot of weapons seem to suffer from brutal vertical recoil. But that might just be because I haven't gotten a lot of attachments yet.

It even has some basic building mechanics akin to SQUAD but further streamlined, which is also a really nice change.

Overall I think this game has the potential to become the "Minecraft" of First Person Shooters in terms of it's overarching reach.

Also the voice chat mechanics are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing.

An excellent modernization of a classic that brings the game up to modern standards with vastly improved controls, on-boarding, improved level design, modern graphics with high end Unreal Engine 4 effects whilst still staying faithful to the original System Shock.

If you wish to get into first system shock, this is the definitive way to play it.

However. Beware. This is not a game for everyone. It will confuse you, you will get lost. You might even spend hours trying to figure out what your objective actually is and you will end up looking at a guide if you aren't observant and constantly paying attention to voice logs and text logs.

Your map and media player are your friends

The game's design is antiquated in a way that some will find extremely refreshing, extremely boring and tedious or downright extremely frustrating. Your mileage may vary. Give the demo a shot, and if you enjoy the Demo, buy the game.

An incredible detective simulator.
Solve crimes, break into houses, work places, stalk people, roam the streets asking questions, leave no stone unturned in order to solve enough murders to retire and get out of the city.

Incredible noirpunk atmosphere and great system interactions and many different ways to solve crimes.

This game heavily rewards creativity and often forces it by restricting the information and tools you have available with each case or contract you take meaning you have to take a different approach each time, from fingerprints, height, photo, name, security footage and serial killer calling cards.

I've changed my review. Primarily because I highly disagree with the idea that this is feature complete and a finished title worthy of a 1.0 release.

I understand developer burn out, but man it's so damn dissapointing to see a game with so much potential basically get shoved out the door in a subpar state lacking a lot of gameplay depth that it really should have

The sequel to the critically acclaimed Door kickers 1, a strategy game about SWAT teams kicking in doors and blasting the bad guys.
Door kickers 2 takes you to a different location. One far from the streets of Nowhere City. To the fields and villages and urban centers of Nowheraki. A fictional middle eastern country, plagued by insurgency and warfare.
You are placed in tactical command of various real-life US Military Special Operations units, as well as one semi fictional unit.

You can play as the US Army Rangers, the Central Intelligence Agency's Special Activities Division or as the fictional Nowheraki SWAT Team and in the future you will be able to play as Delta Force.

Each unit specializes in a subset of skills with Rangers being generalist loud combat, the Central Intelligence Agency being covert operations in hostile areas and the SWAT in urban demolition and cannon fodder warfare.

There are a variety of missions and levels for the player to take part in, from high risk hostage execution rescues, to bomb defusals to high value target abductions.

You can customize each any every operator and you can have unlimited amounts of any unit you wish. Each operator in each unit will slowly earn XP which goes towards their skillsets such as marksmanship, field skills and overall gunfighting skills. They will get faster, more accurate and more deadly overall.

Every operator has their own loadout, and you can change this loadout at your own desire. assuming you have enough stars to do so. which are gained from completing missions.
You can customize what armor your operators carry, what optics they use on their weapon, what helmet they wear, Night vision and most importantly, what weapon and what ammunition they use and if you're using a suppressor on your weapon for covert deployments.

From old worn out eastern european assault rifles from the Union such as the trusty Avtomat Kalashnikov to high end special operations carbines such as the Close Quarters Battle Receiver Mark 18 Mod 1 or the hard hitting Mark-17 Battle Rifle to specialist weaponry such as M249's, M240B's or their smaller or heavier counterparts.

Each unit comes with a variety of different classes. From the Rangers and the SWAT's assaulters. to the CIA's covert agents that blend in with the populace to even the SWAT Sappers with their many explosive charges.

You can destroy most important things in the environment such as walls, doors and windows with items such as lightweight man portable disposable launchers, or wall busting charges.

Operators are controlled via having their paths drawn on the map. From here you can tell what way for each operator to face, how to bust through a door, when to sprint, when to crouch. Once you've formulated your plan to breach the compound and kill all threats and complete all objectives you can start.

From here you can watch your plan succeed or fail.
You can also plan in the moment. Pausing and playing the game, or drawing in real time without any pauses or restarts with no restriction or limitations.

Real CQB tactics will come in handy as you must plan your operator's movements carefully. Learning how to breach doors, move through rooms and hallways and fight in urban outdoor spaces with the careful application of explosives, flashbangs, frag grenades, stinger grenades, smoke grenades or useful tactical equipment such as snake cameras.

In terms of it's quality and difficulty. The game seriously doesn't ♥♥♥♥ around, it can punish you for any mistakes you make in your planning. It's down to you to perfect it.

Each weapon sounds amazing, and actually drawing plans feels smooth and easy to do aswell as on the fly modifications. The game also gives you amazing amounts of choice in pretty much how you approach every level and what you choose to take for that level.

There are minor issues here and there regarding the otherwise flawless planning system, but honestly they're not that bad.
Most of my problems with the game comes down to managing multiple units at once such as 8 man squads. Which takes ages to do.

The AI also have quite frankly BS blind fire mechanics that lets them just shoot you without risking any harm to themselves as long as they have crouch cover. I would much like it if this ability was toned down or given alternate counterplay other than just tossing a nade from cover and hoping for the best. Some of the missions are also frustrating in many regards such as trying to three star them all or get medals for single planning or using one operator for a mission. Particularly any mission that puts you on a time crunch such as execution missions or bomb defusal missions in my opinion.

Overall. I highly recommend this one if you're into flexing your tactical mindset and practicing CQB fundamentals in a virtual environment. Just don't blame me from whatever afterlife you believe in if you use it to actually practice CQB and try to apply that in a real combat environment and die.

First word of advice: Disregard any videos you've seen of Squad prior to the ICO. The game is different.

This was an incredibly risky update for OWI, and one that will cause many to leave, but also many to stay and some to return.


The ICO is likely the first corrective overhaul in a long line of updates to bring the game more to it's tactical "Squad" based shooter roots.


Ultimately, watch some videos and decide for yourself. But I think this is the best update made to Squad ever personally and ultimately has pivoted the game in a different direction than the one it was going down.

Ultimately, massive shifts like this, this far into a game's life span are hugely risky and often quite upsetting for a lot of people so I'm honestly impressed OWI went for it. hopin' and prayin they stick to their guns and reign Squad back into it's own niche
