I personally always recommend the SourceForge version of The Ur-Quan Masters as the best experience to play. The main menu music is from the 2000s remix music; you don't hear main menu music in the original 3DO/DOS version because it didn't have main menu music, that was an addition made by the remixers. The SourceForge version of The Ur-Quan Masters uses the 3DO music. The 3DO music is mostly the same as the original DOS music but with some polish on a few tracks, it's not hugely different and it was only made 2 years after the original game so you can consider it to be the original music. Most people who are fans of the game would say the original music is better, mainly the 3DO release version though and not the original DOS version. The common opinion is that the 2000s remix music is better for just listening to, whereas the original music works better in-game.
