Ys 2 has to be one of the coolest sequels in gaming. It makes Ys 1 look like a demo. The scope is much more ambitious, the amount of reactivity and unique lines per NPC (and monster!!!) is astounding. Music variety bumped up several notches. More interactivity with the world via Magic and other means. Improved visuals in terms of animated elements and lighting. Whiff punishing. More secrets. Gathering materials in the field.

It's an incredible case of taking what was good and making it even better. And probably the most integral game in the whole franchise when it comes to base systems and feel.
