I liked it, but this team needs to do way better. Get yourselves a writer who actually enjoys writing and wants to tell an interesting story. Hire people who actually know how to dig into this decades'-old codebase and fix the problems that are preventing optimization. Come up with a better gameplay gimmick than "make your own fun."
Starfield left the game awards this year empty-handed, but I still enjoyed it. There's still a good game here, but it is barely developed in spite of the fact that this apparently took eight years to make. It's fine to scale back and not do as much as you'd want to -- especially if you're trying to sell us a new franchise. If you look up "The Tenth Planet," you'll see footage of what this game was going to be in the 90s and how that seemed to be going for a more streamlined space adventure with a plot involving intelligent alien life (which, by the way, this game doesn't even have).
At least I liked the characters. They were a bit on the safe side, but they're likeable. Maybe that's a problem, too, though: they're likeable, but you can have characters who absolutely suck to be around, yet you enjoy watching them. I can't remember any characters here like that; you either like them because they're appealing or dislike them because they suck.
There's new DLC coming out for this game. I'm expecting fantasy of some kind -- something to lean more into those underwhelming starborn powers that are just trying to be Skyrim dragon shouts. I can't expect much, though, not with these writers in charge. Could this DLC and future updates give Starfield the kind of revival that No Man's Sky had? I sure hope so, because it better. And TES6 better be more worthwhile than this was or Bethesda's audience is going to continue shrinking.

This game is great, very addicting, nailed the gameplay loop 15 years before that became a buzzword. It's very moddable, too. With that said: DON'T buy the Game of the Year (GOTY) version of Oblivion. Buy the Deluxe version, which is also on Steam; it has all the DLC and features that you cannot legally acquire for this version of the game unless you go out and buy the old DVDs for them.
Valve, Bethesda, or someone in charge needs to make this more clear -- or, better yet, release the DLC separately.

Someone told me I would get laid if I played this game.
I didn't get laid, but the game was pretty awesome.

It's pretty sweet. Great open world and a bunch of things to do outside the main story that makes me feel like we're back in the era of janky CRPGs. The bugs are largely part of the charm and do not detrsct from the main game

For the most part.
Call me entitled, but I'd like to have a game save file that's bigger than a ps2 memory card from 2000. Fix it. Or let modders fix it.
Either way, you're getting no further praise from me ✌️

Started this game cause it reminded me a lot of a story I was working on. What I got in the end was not only a bit of inspiration, but one of the scariest things I've ever played through. I don't play "horror" games, but in the few times I have, they usually rely way too much on jumpscares and other cheap tactics, but SS2 doesn't need to jump you to be scary; it's just plain scary on its own.
On top of this, the gameplay begs for you to replay it over and over. You can bet I'm going to play this again once I finish this first campaign. I wanna see what my guy can do with explosives next, and then later see what a character with a lot of strength and low PSY can do. Not just stats, but the story progression itself can be changed based on how you play -- like how, if you have the PIN, you can go and skip a major chunk of the story if you know what you're doing.
But there's the thing: you better know what you're doing when you play this. Look up guides if you need it, cause this game doesn't even pretend to hold your hand; you really are on your own in this spaceship. Even your allies aren't always who they appear.

Someone took John Carmack's philosophy of "treat the story like a porno" and threw it in the trash. The story here is hella cool and makes sense with who/what the Doomslayer is. I'm at the final level right now (too tired to finish atm..) but all I can say is: rip and tear, this game's amazing.

Absolutely get this; it's my favorite Sega game+franchise and I really wish they'd re-release the sequel -- Jet Set Radio Future. Until that happens, JSR's a great little time capsule and some of the best the Dreamcast had to offer.
