Sometimes I hesitated to launch this game, not sure if I'm able to bear the suspense from my last play session again. I remember the fear when I sat under the desk not knowing if it heard me, if it smelled me. Can it hear my heart beating? ...and when I finally made a run for the exit and I grew goosebumps in fear if "it" would claw me down, just before airlock close behind me.

There isn't an other Alien francise game that I have played the was so able bring the feeling from the first Alien movie over where there was not a hoard of murderous monsters, but a single cunnning being what seemed impossible to defeat.

A great game for fans of the first Movie on condition that you are not suffering from a severe hearth condition.

November, 1965 South Vietnam.

In the past two years the Vietcong (National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam a.k.a. the Viet Cong), with support of the North Vietnamese Peoples Army (NVA), established a foothold in southwest Vietnam, along the Cambodian border.
Running supplies and reinforcements from north to south Vietnam. Since December 1964 the South Vietnamese army repeatedly suffered major defeats against North Vietnam, to the point of breaking.

To prevent that a first deployment of just 3500 Marines in a defensive role in March '65, quickly escalated to 200.000 GI's by December '65. Marking the beginning of a full grown offensive ground war, of the US and his allies, against North Vietnam. In a plan to destroy the enemy and his infrastructure in 12 to 18 month.
10 years and 1 month later at April 30th 1975, the last US Soldiers left Vietnam by the largest helicopter evacuation in history.

This game recapture the events starting in November '65. When the US for the fist time implement Air-mobility doctrine & Air-Assault tactics. Trying to hunt down enemy forces and interrupt supply lines (Ho-Chi-Minh Path, HCMP), in even the most remote parts of Vietnam. By deploying, supporting and extracting an entire Battalion size force just by helicopters. Making the Bell UH-1D Iroquois (Huey) the maybe most iconic helicopter in the world.

You got 45 turns to secure the valley running from the Cambodian border, and win the hearth & minds of the civilian population. Stopping VC reinforcements coming down the Ho-Chi-Minh path, and the NVA from crossing the Cambodian border. Setting up bases and trying to wipe you off the map.
You see, it's all easy peasy. ;)

Vietnam '65 is certainly one of those addictive easy to learn, but hard to master games, with the excitement of a rogue like game. The game seems easy and simple at first, but soon you will find out real thinking and deductive skill are asked for. When trying to figure out the pattern of VC sightings, to pinpoint possible locations of Ho-Chi-Minh trail spawn points across the valley. Then building forward bases in strategic locations, from which your units will operate to lay ambush to any VC coming down the HCMP. Inviting a Claymore mine full of surprises.

For just $10 bucks this game is not only a bargain, but for me personally already amoung the best strategy games of 2015 with a high re-playability value. Almost like FTL back then.

Movie recommendation: We Were Soldiers (2002)[www.imdb.com] with Mel Gibson, Sam Elliot Madeleine Stowe and Clark Gregg.
This movie depicts the first conducted Air-Assault in history, from November 15th to 18th in the La Drang valley (The Valley of Death), near the Cambodian border. Leaving 308 GI's dead in just 4 days. One-third of the entire force.

Going through my game list I just saw that I have over 400 hours on this game. I don't understand, how this is possible.

I haven't even finished the main quest yet. Barley began the quest line of the first expansion, and not even finished the starter quest of the second expansion. I have yet to fully explore Skyrim. Of the 8 holds (Skyrim districts) I only explored 5 of them.
I don't know how many more hours It will take me until I finished the main quest and the two expansions.
How many more to see everything, but thank I godI took breaks playing this game.
Because if you play straight from start to finish, having maybe over 1000 hours of play behind you, you will be fluid in the ancient dragon tongue, recite the theme song from your memory and likely need a guidance consular to help you take your first steps back in the real world.
So immersive is this game experience.
In the years to come it won't be possible to take people serious that haven't played this game.

From what I have played this is pretty much MoM enhanced. You find almost everything you had in MoM including the core mechanics but enhanced, expanded and improved. It's like MoM2.
Word of warning though. I don't recommend to play this game when you need go to work next morning, unless you get your boss to play World of Magic too.

If you want help to develop this game to the finish, have your input heard to a very open minded developers, then don't be afraid to jump into the Early Access.

A worthy successor to the '94 UFO: Enemy Unknown original game.
Despite being a turn-based-strategy game, the little sequences that now and then play like a soldier diving behind cover, dodging incoming fire or a sniper aiming for a deadly shot, gives the game an action immersive atmosphere.
If you're looking a squad based TBS game, with some economic and research management, you'll fully enjoy this title.

A great game in the spirit of Master of Magic.
In my opinion from all the games that tried to clone MoM, Warlock - Master of the Arcance came closest to the original. While it looks like CIV5 it's an independent game with his own engine. As the original MoM the game focus more on combat and tactics than building an civ-a-like empire .
One thing the game really sticks out are the astonishing graphics. Stop for a moment, zoom in and enjoy the incredible detailed building and unit models that are unique to each of the 3 races. (Humans, Monsters, Undead) (check my screenshots)

I love the game for it's humor. Your alter ego is a dork and his victory dance over defeated enemies hilarious. When I saw it first time I almost died laughting.
The game itself is a tower defense variation in 3D where towers are replaced with traps. You will find malicous pleasure in seeing endless hordes of souless orcs being impaled, burned, squadshed, shattered, flipped, electrocuted, dissected and pummled to death.
Thanks to the game comic style it's not graphic but hilariously funny.

The biggest mistake Back in Action did was to put Jagged Alliance in front of it.

Like the latest Star Trek movie Back in Action (BiA) use the same names and places but has nothing in common what we once associated with Jagged Alliance.
However this doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, but wrong expectations will lead to disappointment.
If you're planing to buy BiA in expectation to relive a previous decade old Jagged Alliance experiences you will be disappointment.
If you plan to play BiA because you are looking for a good squad based tacticsgame you will find a decent one.

I'm especially fond of the Plan&Go system.
Plan&Go gives you the same depth like round based. Actually it's even deeper than round based because you can synchronize actions and have you mercenaries act simultaneously instead consecutively.
Downs are the very bad inventory system and not rebindable controls.

Back in Action is a good strategy game and I will finish it a second time with an all female amazon squad.

A wonderful game for a creative mind.
This game let me do the two things I love most. Explore and create.
I can spent dozen of hours exploring all the caverns, pits, islands, dungeons and the very depths of hell itself. Not to mention the hours I spent constructing my own stronghold (including a lava moat), treefarms, gardens and even dungeon with sand traps.
If you enjoy exploring and creating worlds like I do and should buy this game, however don't blame me afterwards if you find yourself playing till dawn.
As there is always one more cavern that need to be explored, one more ore vain to mined and this last room to be furnished.

In comparison to Minecraft I prefer Terraria. Obviously Minecraft biggest advantage is the 3D environment, but it's also his bigges flaw. When 3D I have minimum standards, while the first person view certainly gives "in the middle" feeling the pixel graphics just hurt my eyes and gaming experience. The 2D pixel graphic feel and look much more natural.

This one of most hilarious FPS game I played. One hightlight is the intelligent use of Havok Physics engine. It's the best game using Source Engine and in that even beats Half-Life 2 and adjunct of.
