It does the job excellently for an incredibly niche game in a niche genre. I'd say akin to Town of Salem if any are familiar except the social deduction is against AI, that has you build upon stats to better persuade or lie to achieve the goals of your role. Fun cast of characters that quickly grow on you, and reveal different sides to them as you unlock their events. Their AI also operates differently based on their roles, and you'll figure out how to counteract or support them as you review their behaviour across each loop. Story is subjective but I liked it. Hope to see more games spring from the concept.

In terms of gameplay, your playstyles will vary greatly from early game to late game. Early on, you'll find yourself attaching your opinions to others due to your low stats to reduce the hate that you accumulate by standing out if you were to directly throw out your claims. For an easier time, consider upgrading stealth so that you don't get voted out or killed off too early. Otherwise, a lot of the other abilities depends on the roles you want to play: i.e charm to reduce the distrust of others and build relationships so they come to defend you. Regardless, all the abilities do come with skills that assist you in various ways. Be prepared to lose early on, and each loss will still contribute to boosting your stats for your next loop.

Fun game. Started off rather rough with some of its content drought but I'd say its one of the best live service games in terms of the ratio of content each patch. Puts a lot of others to shame.

Occasional bugs which often gets ironed out quickly. Invasion mode probably still need some tweaking. Otherwise, an outstanding horror game.

Shortest way to describe the game is that it's got a lot of passion and effort put into it with even more content coming for free, however some of its systems can be tedious.

The Story - Strong set of characters reminiscent of the Inazuma Eleven anime, with characters being given time to go through their character arcs in between playing football and through their training. As said before, there's a lot of passion and effort going into it, from the many high production animations of story moments, various minigames to full voice acting even for side quests. The main character is not a self-insert and is one of my favourite characters of the series, which shows exemplary writing in that area.

One of its issues, is that it will take a while to get to playing football, with likely your first two hours or more being spent on the rock-paper-scissors game mechanic. Its a fun mechanic but going into story mode first made it so that my first match took place after 2 hours or so. The many training scenes can make it tedious during the early section. However, I do appreciate the time spent with the characters in those moments. Another egregious example is playing a football minigame with 15 characters - where you need to hit the prompt 3 times for each of them for a to progress the story. Some of it feels boring to get through but like I said, its got great story moments. Scouting is another mechanic which can be cool but running across the large map like in the school map, and considering that some characters are only available during a specific day and time is another tedious system.

Chronicles mode - Fun to play to revisit old moments from the animes but eventually, it does feel like you'll steamroll these teams with your own characters especially during route unlock mode, which makes you just want to score fewer games and waste time so that you can finish quicker for the next node.

Online competition - Fun if your levels are similar but there's a chance you'll either steamroll or get steamrolled on - is my experience - akin to playing lvl30 against lvl50s, or vice versa lvl30s vs lvl3s. My first match was being steamrolled 10 nil but the exp was worth it and you can easily lvl up characters faster using this method. Had a single instance of a bug, or exploit, where the opponent used their goalkeeper to shield the ball somehow so I couldn't take it from them and it wasted about the last 15min of the match.

I'd say its a lot of fun and I'd recommend others to try it. Think lots of people would have a lot of fun, even for those that haven't played a sports game in forever but there are some aspects that could be streamlined - which they themselves have acknowledged for a future update like in the route unlock mode - where scoring 4 goals would be enough to skip the match or automatically proceed. I have confidence that they can build upon this game, which already oozes lots of quality from the get go.

RECOMMENDED BUY AT A DISCOUNT

TLDR: Buy it at a later date. Fun gameplay and decent enough story. There's still bugs and performance issues that require you to reload or restart the game to get it stable again. Best part of the open world is not that many loading screens except for the main fortresses.

POSITIVE:
Fun gameplay is the main positive, loot and shoot is satisfying. Gunplay is the best because of the different licensing parts, which makes guns lower than legendary rarity better than what they would otherwise be and could be used in place of legendaries. There's a lot of mixing and matching available, which keeps the gunplay fresh. The story starts off good but kind of tapers off in the late game. The characters range from good to not too annoying and the side quests range from fun to tedious. Overall, still an enjoyable gameplay and story experience.

NEGATIVE:
Performance issues. Should be better optimization for the sort of graphics it has. When your fps tanks and you stutter, the fix is to go back to the main menu, reload back in or start the game back again to get it back to stable again.

Bugs (the ones I have experienced) - Lost loot not functioning as it should? lowest rarities fill up the spots instead of the highest rarity loot that drops. Have had a few sidequest bug out with their objectives (such as clear out the enemies when there are no enemies left), requiring me to reload the game to do it again to progress.

Open world was a different step but feels lackluster especially since the map options are awful. Switch it in the options from compass to radar to make it serviceable. ECHO pings map route for you to go to for a while but then has a cooldown that makes you wait before you can see where you need to again. Lot of locations pad out time because of the map routing going through mountains or objects that you clearly cannot traverse and has a single way of entry through grappling hooks. Speaking of grappling hooks, it's a bit of an afterthought because there isn't too much you can do with them in combat, unless those spots are designated to be grappling hook areas. Considering how large the map is, they need some better map options. Also, invisible walls will impede you. Can't climb it like in skyrim to get to your locations even if it looks traversable.

UI & inventory is a bit of a mess. Sorting items could do with a rework like remembering your preferred options to make it better. In addition, simplified descriptions of class mod enhancements just list skill names instead of what you are actually getting out of it. Meaning that it requires you to check between tabs on what skills are being improved.

Loot and creating new characters: Another quip is the lack of class mod enhancements for your own character. Anecdotal experience but I obtained more legendary rarities for other characters than my own. Apparently, this is a feature so it means that particular character loot has to roll a 25% chance to actually be usable for your character. In addition, creating new characters after reaching Ultimate Vault Hunter Level One skips the early game up to lvl 30 however you still need to rediscover the map, with the fast travel points as well as other collectibles to upgrade your max ammo, bank space etc. (As you might imagine, that can get tedious)

In conclusion, flawed game that has fun gunplay that keeps me playing. I placed it at not recommended because of the issues above. Consider waiting until a discount and hopefully those issues get ironed out.

Will take a while to finish the other endings so I'm writing this based on my first playthrough because I wanted to recommend it. It's a solid story that you can go through once but will ultimately benefit from achieving the other endings to get the bigger picture and unravel the mysteries. This is primarily a story game, the tactics gameplay will be secondary if that is your consideration.

Story:
Excellent mystery throughout, keeping you from achieving the bigger picture but you can still piece together bits of information to figure out what is going on or what is likely to happen. There are no investigation activities or debate minigames like in Danganronpa but piecing together the events and how it relates is a big part of enjoying the story.

Combat:
Fairly good. It encourages a high risk playstyle where you get your characters killed for additional style points (nice kills). This gains you a higher net of BP alongside killing enemies which can then be used to upgrade a characters abilities. This means that it is relatively quick. I could see it getting more tedious or repetitive as you'll likely have to play certain battles again whilst going through the other endings.

Characters:
The initial impressions you will have upon meeting the characters will be less than stellar and you'll probably even roll your eyes as they seem to be caricatures or exaggerated tropes. However, due to the nature of the game, there is more time to explore their story, background and they undergo character arcs that transform them beyond this. They also bounce off well with the other character cast which keeps the dialogue refreshing. Only exception to the rule is 1 character that is probably the vehicle of jokes. Character moments are mostly confined to the story although you might get tidbits if you spend your free time with them. I will reserve some judgement because I have not gone through the other endings, which can explore more of the characters further.

Voice acting and soundtrack:
Based on JP va, it's really good. Soundtrack is really solid too.

Incredibly fun game. Good narrative and likeable characters.

Pretty enjoyable game. Though, it get's pretty easy after you figure it out, with the succession laws being the typical pain in the ass. If you're worried about getting bored, you can just head on over to get some customization and total conversion mods which is what made the majority of my hours in CK2. The modding support should keep this game fresh.

The native single player experience of this game is lacking in a few areas such as more options when it comes to negotiations and diplomacy, so it can get rather bland after a while but with added mods, you'll be able to spend plenty of hours with extravagant armors, more customization options, different troops and level troop trees and different world maps as well as battlefield maps. Added on to this would be a variety of new quests and many other unique features in mods such as Prophesy of Pendor. The graphics are one of its downsides but it is a small problem that is easily outweighed by the good parts of Warband being its very unique and excellent approach to creating the RPG setting for the game.

I have only played a single game on multiplayer and I did not end up coming back because I did not enjoy it all too much, it's still worth trying out. However the dlc, Napoleonic Wars is an alternative to the multiplayer option and I believe it still has a good amount of people playing it.

So, I very much recommend anyone interested to pick this game up. The pricetag is justified but there are many sales in which you can pick it up for so just wait around for that.
