Welcome to the Dungeon, we got fun and games!

D&D is awesome. We have a pretty mixed bag of players, with varying abilities, some with disabilities and one total pervert (you have no idea how much I have to edit our vids). Everyone plays together, laughs together and gets to stomp through a variety of worlds and bizarre creatures over some drinks and snacks.

It used to be expensive. I started playing in 3.5 edition. The Devils' Edition. Overly complex rules, badly broken (not in a good way) characters and really expensive - tilesets, character models, building models - it was like playing Warhammer 40k but getting a much worse deal for the cash.

As much as I loved DM-ing I quit for a loooong while because of this. 5th Edition seduced me back. It's glorious, it's much easier and quicker to get into and so much more flexible. You can buy the books but the rules are available online. I bought them because A) they look awesome and B) I can throw them at intruders and almost guarantee a broken nose. There are amazing groups online who give away free campaigns to play through and the blog "F*ck Yeah D&D" have free characters, character sheets and reviews a lot of campaigns. I give away a free drop-in D&D game (special rules, character sheets and a realised world to play in) at the end of each recording season (basically every 12 episodes).

It's very much back to basics, letting you build the world you want and the characters you want. So have some fun with them, open up the beers/soda and prepare to kill your friends and still laugh about it afterward. It's D&D o' clock.
