The throwback team

Super Ghetto, established in year 2000, is a Counter-Strike clan consisting of friends. It began in the beta days of Counter-Strike and in a time when Team Fortress 2 was a bigger title in the short list of Half-Life mods.

We downloaded the 230+ MB package from counter-strike.net on Saturday mornings, hoping for bug fixes and new maps. Classic maps like de_dust, cs_militia, cs_assault, cs_italy, cs_siege, de_nuke and de_train were some of our favorites. We competed in small leagues, practiced and pugged regularly, and scrimmaged often. IRC channel #SuperGhetto was our hangout and our two private servers was where we showed off our skills.

This was our fun. This was our life.
