关于 Starbound: Galaxy in Conflict

Galaxy in Conflict is a massive expansion for Starbound with an extremely heavy focus on exploration, combat, and RPG mechanics in various worlds combining fantasy and sci-fi elements.

GIC is heavily inspired by the souls-like mix of melee and ranged combat of Remnant: From the Ashes, the loot system of Tarkov, and the fantasy elements of a grounded and grittier sci-fi Touhou.

This group's primary purpose is to function as an archive for update logs for people who are unable or unwilling to join the GiC Discord. This will help notify people on some matters.

Please keep in mind that there will be no support given here and that any inquiries should be redirected to the GiC Steam Discussions or the GiC Discord (although the latter is significantly faster in terms of response time and helpful info).

V4.2.1 Christmas Hotpatch

- Changed the loot drops of the Christmas Presents to drop a random empowering beverage, spiritual remedy, or a candy from halloween. It doesn't seem to like the loot bag system when handling "empty" drops (crashes, access violation) which normally just equate to "don't put an item here" for container loot. I myself only did about a dozen openings and must've simply been lucky to not roll "empty" loot. Further testing by Wyverns seems to corroborate this so that's the working theory. Apologies for any inconveniences.

- Fixed said presents having a "firetime" of 5s. You can now rapidly spam-open the presents now instead of having to switch back and forth each time.

- Added a small portable computer that has the same merchant pool as the Bowerbird Furniture Store, meaning you no longer have to travel back and forth to the store (or use admin to pick up the whole store object itself). Portable computer furniture store is the very first item in the first category in the actual shop itself.

- Fixed smoke grenade concealment status info not showing up in the player's "effect" bar.

Wanna leave this message here so that you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know what's up with me & my epic crash out.

I'm under an insane amount of stress lately due to my family at home. My mom's health is falling apart fast and it happened out of nowhere, so I have to help take care of her & also take over a lot of her slack around the house. My little brother Kristian (11 years old) is looking to me not only his big brother, but also as a father figure since I'm the only other man of this house. My other brother Alex (21) has always been a thing however. He's mentally & physically disabled & diagnosed with a rare mental disorder called Angelman Syndrome. Since I was a little kid (pre ten) I have had to help take care of him. As I've gotten older, and as he's gotten older, my responsibilities have only increased. I'm the only one who can change him, bathe him, carry him, among other things. Mind you, he's a 21 year old man who can't walk or talk. You can probably imagine what that looks like.

So on top of just my life being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy, I have GiC. On the outside things must seem hunky dory but holy ♥♥♥♥ man. Sure, I don't make the maps. Sure, I have little to no coding experience. But regardless of that my work & influence with GiC is surprisingly vast and in some way shape or form when you play the game a part of me is in there. I've done the majority of the story framing for the project, created many of the factions, their lore, aesthetics, and even in regards to balancing I have had extremely heavy influence (this is why I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate weapon suggestions). The archetype system was even conjured by me, and I had to argue for its existence for MONTHS because Jaden, and even some of you in the community, were worried it was the wrong way to go and it would be something that limited player freedom, creativity, & build making, of which it was actually supposed to increase and has proven to do so. Gun jamming was also another thing I had pushed for to make gun durability mean something more beyond stat changes. I pushed for proper weapon classification & since pre GiC dev status pushed for weapon & armor synergy effects (using a specific weapon with armor grants bonus effects).

So that's where we are now. My mental state is rapidly declining. I would have never publicly crashed out had I been still in ship shape in the head. Me doing that tells me its time to take a step back so that I don't have any more breaks like that. I just need to get GiC out of my head for a while. Despite what I said earlier today, I don't honestly think this is permeant. Not even close. I will definitely be back some day, when I feel less stressed out and my life gets more stable. I just can't tell you when that will be since even I don't know myself. All I do know is that I need to cut a huge chunk of stress out of my life so that I don't explode and that's the bottom line. So don't worry, Jaden & I are still fine and this isn't a Mawd situation where I'm gonna make my own dumbass "fork?" and go to WAR with him or anything gay like that.

I was the one who kicked Mawd out of his seat and gave it back to Jaden. I also fought hard to keep him in that seat. To betray Jaden would go against all my morals and I would be a rotten bastard for doing so.

So yeah, that's really all I got. Don't give Jaden a hard time because if you do I'll ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ find you, or anyone in the team for that matter.

Rusty crowbars are actually pretty rare in some trinket spawn spots.

You get a permanent one halfway through GIC (Subterranean OR Wildlands)

is there a way to regularly get crowbars or do you just get them occasionally from quests?

Besides that. I'm glad you guys had me in your community a long time ago, but i'm sorry in general for how i acted back then since it was probably too much for you, and i understand that now after some years, and as i mentioned before i hope i could be given another chance.
