If you like video games you're bound to like Contrapand.com - we review and recommend games for consoles, computers and various handheld and mobile devices. We like all kinds of games but focus mainly on great single-player experiences with interesting mechanics, contents, narrative or just generally awesome gameplay - games developed by passionate independent developers and gaming enthusiasts, regardless of the size and financial backup of their team. We strongly believe that the big publishers today actually hurt the essence of gaming when they force their studios to make every game accessible to everyone for the sake of selling more copies. Gaming is for everyone, but not all games are meant to appeal to every gamer.

We don't use traditional score systems or grading in our reviews, we believe that's mainly a way for publishers to promote AAA-productions in gaming media and not a credible or fair way to actually measure and decide whether a game is fun to play or not. That's not what Contrapand is about, we'd rather just play games and tell you about it.
