A passionate gathering of video game fans worldwide

Being a 3,000 hour Counter Strike veteran, I can honestly say I'm not excited even remotely about Counter Strike 2.

The reasons why I'm not are simple: my gaming tastes have evolved and expanded into a different path from what I used to enjoy.

Nevertheless, looking into it more deeply, I would be excited for: Command & Conquer Generals 2, some kind of epic Modern Day conflict/strategy game, a reboot of the Conflict Desert Storm series, a Game of Thrones super high production MMORPG (this if done well, with all of the immense GoT characters, and the gorgeous world of Westeros (and beyond), could be a contender for the greatest game ever!

But an online only shooter? Nope, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. If Counter Strike had an epic singleplayer campaign akin to say: Half Life, then my opinion would ABSOLUTELY change.

And that in itself is precisely the problem: The Video Game industry ain't all that creative anymore. It doesn't produce things that satisfy me, unlike the games of 15 (and more) years used to.

The Saboteur wasn't received that well I don't think but it was unique, and yet, despite being not all that positively received, I loved it.

The Getaway, so cool, nothing since similar except maybe Sleeping Dogs.

I'd like a GTA kind of game but as a cop. Where is the creativity amongst developers to produce this kind of game?

Where is the creativity amongst strategy developers to produce an enthralling modern day conflict experience? Why does it ALWAYS have to be World War Two?

About my police GTA style open world RPG, maybe you start out as patrol officer on the beat, the main missions are police work then off duty you have a fully interactive map to do stuff. It could have super interesting stealth elements if you're chilling in an illegal establishment and the feds bust in while you're there. Just one possibility, and UNIQUE.

Throughout your police career in an immersive story, you could get into corruption, become a detective, maybe even join the feds yourself, bribery, mobster cases, marry a mob boss's daughter!

Hell, I should be a game dev and produce that epic idea myself!

In terms of location, because I think London is a perfect fitting for an RPG game, this game would be great in a London setting, so not only would the game be a call back to GTA in some ways for its open world approach, it would also remind the gamers of old of one of the best game series ever: The Getaway!

As a writer, awesome storytelling would be a parallel story play, in where you could drop in and out of two antagonists on a collision course (each character is each other's kryptonite, hence why they are each other's antagonist, and equal protagonists, similar to GTA's Trevor, Michael and Franklin, but much different). The story could be told via a rotation of missions between the two characters (one is the patrol cop, the other is a London gangster/crime lord).

As a choice of ending, one of the characters dies: the choice of who is entirely yours, and factored by decisions you made throughout the game, which would provide immense replayability if done correctly.

What do you think of my ideas? Should I approach publishers and or game studios and get into the game business? 😅
