Welcome Fellow Speedsters!!!

I recently just rewatched the first season of the Flash with my girlfriend and comparing it to current seasons I've noticed a stark difference. The overall storytelling of the show was a lot different though still sharing common tropes of all CW superhero shows. The first season of the Flash focused heavily on Barry's story and him becoming a better man and a hero throughout the season. What I find interesting is that even though it's focused on him he's not the one who saves the day. When you really think about it was always someone else who solved the problem wether it was Joe's inspiring talks, or Well's instructions even to Eddie's sacrifice. That's essential to show as Barry is just beginning his journey on being the main hero of the show. The biggest and best moments of the season for me were any scene with Barry and his father and any scene showing secrets or moments with the Reverse Flash. It's extremely interesting rewatching from the beginning already knowing that Well's is the Reverse Flash and dissecting every single word he says as there's definitely slight nods and references you wouldn't pickup the first time. When it comes to later seasons of the Flash I wish they would have stayed more on Barry's story as I felt in some later seasons he was the side story to other side characters and it took away from the overall experience of the show. I understand that some people were annoyed with having speedsters as the main villain of each season those villains were always the more interesting ones to me by miles. I also really love to see the other side characters from the very beginning of the show. In season one I found Iris to be charming, sweet, and you want Barry and her to be together so bad, but just like Arrow with Felicity once it happens it's not good. Iris was perfectly done in my mind within the first two seasons more specifically season one but anything after that she becomes so annoying and pushy and next thing you know she's leading team Flash with no experience. Later seasons I absolutely can't stand her. Cisco is usually a high point through most seasons but they ruin him later on by having him hate Barry and take away his own powers for some reason. I never was a big fan of Killer Frost ever and I'm glad that part of her character doesn't get involved yet. To me the first season of this show is without a doubt it's best with consistently great episodes and story moments that stick with you after, I just wish the show could get back on track to it's better days and remember what elements made the show become as popular as it was, because I remember the days when everyone couldn't stop talking about this show, and now I forget it's still going, either way let me know your thoughts on the first season of the show and where it's gone since then.
