This is my second completed game in the Arkham Collection, the first being Arkham Asylum of course. Between the two, I personally enjoyed the first game a little bit more. May it just be the first time joy of seeing many of Batmans tools in use, or the more tight story on smaller map lends itself to the first game in ways the larger open world design may not for the second. I think it comes down to how much side content you personally like to engage with. The combat in the second game here is slightly refined over the first, So I'll be excited to check out the third game in time when I'm ready for another great Batman story.

Coming back to the second Batman game out of the trilogy after some years for a fresh playthrough and all I can say is that it's my favourite for a reason. Not only game but arguably the best story/media of any kind you can get out of the vein of Batman. It improves on leaps and bounds from every aspect of Asylum and especially it being open world elevates the immersion to a completely other level.

The combat element has also developed in it's fluidity and kept the same formula with Asylum improving as you unlock more of the skill tree but enemy's tank a lot more hits, so I found myself utilising 'beat down' a lot as it's so satisfying to use. The Catwoman segments were a nice change of pace and being able to switch fighting style every so often with the appeasing character design is of course a bonus.

This game is a true gem and burns bright as one of my childhood memories that kickstarted this expensive addiction.

You 100% NEED to play this game. I sure will again when the time arises.
