BuckmanTech: Technology + Innovation

Welcome to the BuckmanTech Steam Group aka BTEK.

Let me begin with a little history on where BTEK comes from. My father Bernie Buckman worked as a computer programmer for over a decade in the 80s before starting his own business "Buckman Computer". His idea was to specialize in computer repair and build custom PCs. This was back when the technology was brand new and not common knowledge like it is now.

Dad was also a PC gamer at heart. He loved to play DOOM, Quake, Descent, Duke Nukem, and Tomb Raider games on the computer. I can still remember him playing DOOM on impossible difficulties, yelling at the top of his lungs as overwhelming amounts of fireballs fly towards him on screen. And how we played games against each other on our home LAN that dad and my brother ran through the house themselves. My dad loved technology and always made sure we had the newest and fastest computers as they advanced.

Dad passed away in 2014, but I still strive to expand on everything he taught me. Including his dream of starting and running a business. In 2013 I was presented with the opportunity and started a business now known as BuckmanTech, providing computer services and custom PC builds just like dad used to. However, in addition to tinkering with computers I have also spent most of my adult life working as an electrician. Today BuckmanTech continues to grow by providing both electrical and computer services to over 70 customers in Kansas. It's my personal goal to carry on dad's dream and keep this business alive.

This group is not so much for my business as it is for the like-minded gamers that love to play computer games as much as dad did. I grew to love PC gaming because of him and still play PC games to this day.
