Wow, this is bad. Basically, they took everything good and fun about Quake 3 Arena, and made it worse, and made it a modern, hero shooter, with too much dlc, and too confusing of menus. Along with that, the match making is horrible! I got thrown in with level 50s in my 1st match, and lost like crazy. The only positive things I can say about this game is, it looks good, seeing enemies is easier, its free, and that is it, everything else is negative. Overall, if you wanna waste 20 minutes and 30 gigs of space, this is the game, otherwise, play quake 3 arena, it is better than this is almost every way.

After spending about 6 hours in Quake Champions, I can say the game is an absolute blast. It perfectly captures that classic, fast-paced arena shooter feeling that makes the genre so addictive. The movement is fluid, and the combat is incredibly satisfying—it’s just pure, high-energy fun.

However, there are a few things new players should know:
- The Skill Gap: The player base isn't as large as it once was, and the people who are still playing are generally very skilled. As a beginner, you might find yourself facing some "pros," but the core gameplay makes it worth sticking around to learn.
- Technical Tip: When I first launched the game, the graphics looked quite blurry and pixelated. If this happens to you, head straight to the Video Settings and ensure your Resolution Scale is set to 100%. Once I did that, the game looked sharp and great.
- Account Required: One downside is that you cannot simply "plug and play." You are required to register a Bethesda.net account to access the online multiplayer.

Requires a server connection to even launch the client and the servers are slow (when they even work at all). There is no server browser, the matchmaker takes a while to find a game and then puts you back to the menu as soon as it finishes. SBMM has no place in a quake title imo (and this is a particularly poor implementation). Gameplay itself is very good but there's a whole lot of crap you have to put up with to play. I doubt I will play this nearly as much as some of the older titles in the franchise.
