Heroic Actions

Today, me and some lads played Helldivers, and attempted to tackle the Bug Boss: The Hivelord.

The battle was a long struggle to stay alive, everyone running around in chaos, attempting to at least get a few shots in. Daan & Harm loaded and fired the recoiless rifle, and did loads of damage at the start. Eventually though, the recoiless rifle was nearly unretrievable because of the ammount of bugs.

We started to die more and more, and the mission seemed increasingly impossible. At a certain point, we all died. We fell silent, seeing our last man, daan, being slaughtered alive. In his last breath, daan called in the Reinforce stratagem, and recalled us all at the same time, as he died, we landed back to avenge him. Daan is a hero, he will not be forgotten, and remembered by RDF forever, as an honorary member.

After a long struggle, me and James struggled long and hard to reload and fire the recovered recoiless rifle. Daan and harm tried to stay alive, and did their best to kill the bugs, that increased in ammount and strenght every second. After one final reload, we got pushed into a corner, James fired the recoiless rifle and... It died. The monster fell. It had been defeated. Finally we felt safe. We cheered and the shuttle landed, reviving the fallen lads and leaving the planet.

This fight was one of the most intense boss battles I've ever had, and surely something to be remembered. Thank you, Daan, Harm and James, for an amazing time.
