The game is currently Buy To Play - whether or not it will go Free, I don't know.
So far though, I have bought it, and am NOT regretting it one bit!

I love the fact that I have to explore, gather, craft, and fight and train, to get better.
You start off with Tier 1-2 armor and weapons, and slowly gain your way up to the highest Tier in the game - which at the moment, is Tier 8 I believe.

Combat forms include: Melee, Mage, and Range. Though, it contains various forms of that once you hit Tier 3/4+.
At Tier 3/4, examples:
Mage -> Arcane, Pyro, Ice, Cursed, Holy, and more.
Melee -> Swords, Hammers, Axes, (both 1H and 2H), etc.
Range -> Daggers, Bows, Longbows, Crossbows, etc.

You can also get your own island, and the more advanced the island becomes, the more expensive it is to upgrade it.
However, it comes with perks - more buildings to build!
Which means, you could build crafting stations on your island, build farms, and even grow animals - yes, animals. This does include Mounts - such as standard Horses, as well as Transport Mounts - the Ox. AND, also includes rare drops from mobs etc. Such as a Direwolf Pup, and some other ones. :)


All in all, it's time consuming. It's a game you can casually play, or be competitive etc, however - all in all, it's extremely fun. <(^-^)>
