WE WANT HALO ON STEAM!

I have numerous reasons to believe why the first three Halo games are coming to Steam. Microsoft had no interest in providing the Halo series installments on Steam, however Halo Spartan Assault is now availible on Steam. This shows us that microsoft is A) Testing the PC waters to judge future profit, and B) Microsoft is now showing interest in working with Valve to put future games on Steam.

Many people believe that the Halo 2 PC servers were being shutdown so they could work on the servers for the release of Halo 2 on Steam. The servers were going to shut down because in June Microsoft decided to shut down windows live, however, Halo 2 multiplayer will still be up and functioning. Here is what the 343 MM Systems Team had to say: "We are continuing to support the Games for Windows Live service. As previously announced, as part of the retirement of Microsoft Points the Xbox.com PC marketplace was closed. Although customers are unable to purchase new games from the marketplace or receive title updates, they can continue to enjoy previously purchased content by downloading them through the Games for Windows Live client as usual. We remain committed to investing in PC gaming in the years ahead, and look forward to sharing more in the future."

This tells us that they are definitely interested in a future with PC gaming of some sort. "We remain committed to investing in PC gaming in the years ahead, and look forward to sharing more in the future." This direct quote by saying they "look forward to sharing more in the future" is almost a guranteed notion that is indicating a new Halo game is coming to PC. With Windows Live shut down, where else could they sell it? Steam is the #1 Online Distributor of PC games, so there is a very good chance it is coming to Steam.

Most likely the only Halo games coming will be 1, 2, and 3. Halo 4 is Microsoft's bread and butter. I believe that they will not be added to Steam remastered, but as the base vanilla versions you remember from back in the day, which is fine by me. I also believe that 343 will not be working on it directly themselves, I believe 343/Microsoft is hiring a 3rd party company to add them to Steam.

The First Halo games were also added as official Steam groups http://www.steamfirst.com/halo-2-and-halo-3-appear-as-official-steam-groups-games-to-follow/ In a press conference for Halo: Master Chief Collection, 343 was asked about a Halo 3 coming to PC so gamers could finally finish the fight. 343 replied by saying they did not any plans at the moment but IN THE FUTURE IT MAY BE POSSIBLE.
