To make it run, I cleared off one of the existing scripts for a level, written the new definition for level in script ( for example #POSITION SNAPSHOT ) and put some characters in level that I'll be free to control them.
if you want to try out yourself, you can substitute everything in SCRIPTS/missions/01_tutorial with this script:

Be sure to backup your original tutorial script somewhere else outside scripts folder.
Then in game, you can start the first mission, which should be named "BREED". The level should start in one of the unused missions.
