Is there like a multiplayer version available or something? On my old Windows XP i had a beta version of multiplayer test "0.1" or "0.2", it was a demo, obviously. Had alot of fun on it, flying on the dropship, exploring the entire map, etc. I was always curious if you can control cool ships like USC Darwin, or a BREED Tank, i left the game in 2007 so yknow, pure nostalgia.

I have found an article which says that the "Xplosiv" edition was published a year later after the original CDV edition.

In Landscapes.txt, you can check every level that are both used and unused. Levels are defined with #LANDSCAPE <levelname>

To make it run, I cleared off one of the existing scripts for a level, written the new definition for level in script ( for example #POSITION SNAPSHOT ) and put some characters in level that I'll be free to control them.

Be sure to backup your original tutorial script somewhere else outside scripts folder.

Then in game, you can start the first mission, which should be named "BREED". The level should start in one of the unused missions.

The CDV edition has some annoying nasty bugs.
The biggest of them is the Starforce protection on it.

The Xplosiv edition does not have the Starforce protection on it.
It runs well on Windows 10.
That is why I recomment the Xplosiv edition.

BREED Demo doesn't have multiplayer, it was singleplayer demo only.

But I also remember my elder brother said that he burned the BREED Iso to CD in some way that it worked with Starforce. Too bad my pc doesn't have cd - dvd reader anymore

@kwaHliveD and does BREED demo have multiplayer? (PS: my version has starforce; And I am VERY old enough to know, that starforce can only be emulated if original disc copy was made with "read physical disc data" with Alcohol 120% and "emulate physical data" when mounted. As Starforce kills Windows 10 nowadays, all legit games with it must be fully installed, then starforce manually uninstalled before reboot, then "modified" No-CD exe downloaded and used. I still dont know if you need CD-KEY for multiplayer. I stay with Win 7 because my library of physical games has all and every copy protection ever used: TAGES, SECUROM 1/2, STARFORCE, defect sectors and so on.... Had to rebuy some titles on GOG, to have them finally DRM free)

I'd like to play, but I don't have the original copy, and when the copy isn't original, I remember that the game refused to connect to any of the servers (files not matching error), not sure about the executable file.
It also really depends if the game edition is either CDV edition or Xplosiv edition (and either v1.0 or v1.1). Game refuses to join on any mismatch. I'll have to look up the whole internet to find working editions.

I've been also working only with BREED Demo because it's small in filesize, doesn't put out CD-Key warnings (problem since windows' UAC) and can alt-tab while fullscreen.

I love this game. I'm a cosplayer and would love to take a proper look at the models in 3ds max. does anyone know if it's possible to import the .obj files, i just get failures :(

Oh man! I'm glad I'm not the only one.
This game here was the first ever serious game i played.
When my family got a PC first game on it was just billard. But then next day, my dad brought home a single CD-R disc, which was labeled with an ordinary black marker written word "BREED".
And not only this game was awesome for me, it is intriguing right now. I mean, how you can't just go and find it easily, you must dig it up...

Cant Find the XPlosiv edition anywhere... i bought the original Breed game all those years ago and, aside from some glitches in the graphical range, never had an issue with the game.. I only ran into issues, like game crashing, when i modded the game so i could control the breed tanks and such. But been wondering if there was still an active community around for Breed
