Incompatibility with Heavy Weapons and Warcasket Weapons
I'm playing with the Vanilla Pirates Expanded mod and can't equip Warcasket colonists with Warcasket weapons and can only pick up regular weapons

My colonists can in fact equip warcasket weapons,but only one weapon at a time with no sidearms

Do you try setting mod sidearm to no limit ? option>>mod setting>>simple sidearm

Yeah,the only limit I have is "slots" as I self-enforce what can be used as a sidearm

I'm just having issues with warcasket melee weapons where no matter if it's their main/side arm or their only weapon or not they just instantly unequip it unless they're drafted.

scratch that it seems to be any melee weapon

ok so at least for me it seams that my warcaskets just cant equip melee weapons at all no matter what settings I have
