Was getting CTD'd on the same day, and the error log brought up the event a few times. Was trying to fire due to an awakened empire, so removing the empire only delayed the CTD a year before it tried firing for the still sleeping ones. Removing the event itself from the mod folder seems to have fixed the issue.
