The Vaash Container is a quest item that should automatically grant you a new quest when you pick it up. Check your quest log for a quest called "Acidic Warfare": that's the quest you should have received when picking up the item.

If that quest isn't in your journal, you likely dismissed the "quest accept" screen the first time you picked it up. You can trigger the accept screen again by dropping the item and picking it back up again!
