The Great Monster Bone is a random drop form enemies on planets of any difficulty, though it becomes much more common on the highest level planets. While you can get them from kills with regular weapons, using Avikan hunting weapons (easily distinguishable by the elemental icon showing a spear) nets you the best chances of a Great Monster Bone dropping.

So for the best results: go to high-level planets and kill monsters with an Avikan hunting weapon!
