Are you certain you are using the correct weapon (called Keffrider's Spear)? Killing an Adult Poptop with that weapon will result in a guaranteed Grand Monster Bone drop, so you'd only have to kill a single one of them. I just tested this in the latest version of the mod, and it's working correctly on my end.

If you are using that weapon, the most likely scenario is that some other mod is overwriting all changes to the Adult Poptop's drop pools, which would prevent the Grand Monster Bone from dropping. What sort of items did you get for killing the poptops with the spear? That can help me determine whether or not the drop pools are indeed being overwritten by some other mod.

Looking at Frackin' Universe's files, it's possible that that mod is causing issues with drop pools being overwritten, but the fact that you got some Monster Bones and Monster Hide from your last hunt contradicts that point. Are you certain that you are using the correct weapon, and not some other Avikan hunting spear? The drops you got last hunt suggest an Avikan hunting weapon was used for the killing blows, although there is a small chance to receive these items from kills with regular weapons as well.

I'll have to do some more testing on my end, then. The primary suspect remains Frackin' Universe, since it makes changes to the adult Poptop's files as well. I'll let you know if I find out anything new!

For now, you can use one of two methods to get your hands on a Grand Monster Bone: the first is to buy them from the Drifter's Emporium (a black market vendor in the Starfarer's Refuge), which sells them for 5000 pixels. The other method is to spawn them in while in admin mode. The item can be spawned in using the following command (use /admin to enter admin mode first):
/spawnitem grandmonsterbone

yeah i already gave in and bought it after like 100+ kills lol. i had a feeling it would be FU. thanks for the help and i love the mod :D

Out of curiosity... Does the Mama Poptop count as an "Adult" poptop, or do we need to find one in a different place?

Nope, it has to be a regular Adult Poptop. The Mother Poptop found in the mines won't count for this quest.

I got the drop correctly yesterday with the Keffrider's Spear on my first attempt of the larger sized poptop and I am using FU. You may want to make sure you don't have a passive DOT ability that is killing the monsters as a DOT kill does not count as killing it with a hunting weapon.
