The Vehicle Jumpgate is a decorative object crafted at the Metalworking Station, in the objects tab. If you're a Droden, you'll have learned the blueprint for it by default.

just a random comment passing by. Acutually how do you get the blueprint for the vehicle jumpgate

If you play as an Avikan or Droden, you'll start out with the blueprint unlocked. If you play as a different race, you'll need to find the Drifter's Emporium (black market in the Starfarer's Refuge) and purchase an Avikan Crafting Guide, which will unlock all Avikan crafting blueprints.

What does the core look like in the selection menu? I can't find anything under decorations that explicitly says jumpgate core

Okay, so I might have an idea as to where you can find this. I've been playing around a little with it and the Metalworking Station is only available from the upgraded Avikan Workman's Table, which becomes known as the Artisan's Station once upgraded. There are also a small number of other stations that unlock past the base set once the Workman's Table is upgraded as well.
