Suggestion: RAM usage for Linux
I know that the Windows version(s) have a RAM usage counter when loading a game. I wonder if it is possible to have the same for Linux. If not, is it because of some technical limitation? Thanks.

Sorry for my late reply.

The limitation is only practical. There is no cross-platform API for getting the memory information and my development platform is Windows. So I was able to develop the platform-specific part just for Windows.

Has anybody run Steam and the game successfully under VirtualBox?

Thanks for answering. I don't know about running the game in a VM, but it might work. Only way to find out is by doing.

It doesn't. The game requires OpenGL 3.2 which VirtualBox does not provide.

Maybe I could look into the specific files on my box and forward them to you. Anything I can do to help.

Speaking of VirtualBox, I don't think it is fixable for us. The virtualization does not provide the required level of 3D acceleration. It does have OpenGL but only v1 or v2.

I guess the only option is to try a dual boot or if you have a spare computer lying around (don't we all ;). If I knew what to look for, I still might be able to help. Like what the ram counter is accessing on a Windows box. I could then see what the equivalent on a Linux box is. Let me know.

I just found out that VMWare Player (which is free for one workstation) uses OpenGL 3.3. This might be a solution for you.

@sydbat Interesting. I think it is possible to export the virtual image from VirtualBox to VMWare.
