Cannot load old games after update to v2.2.0
When I try to load a game that I started with a previous version of 5x mod I now get a warning that the mod configuration changed. If I choose to load the game it gets stuck on a black screen and never starts.

Has anyone else problems like this? Is it normal that mod updates break old games? 5x mod is the only mod I have activated.

It's to be expected with an update I'm afraid.

Your best bet if you wanna finish the current game is to install the earlier version manually from Nexus Mods.

http://www.nexusmods.com/masteroforionconquerthestars/mods/6/?

To install it, just download 2.1.3 from files over at the link and unzip the content to:
Documents\Master of Orion\Mods
then activate it as you would any other mod in-game.

Sorry about that. I tried to warn people with a post in the comments section that I'm going to post a new version and that it would mess up some saved games, but I have no way to contact all subscribers directly. You should be able to finish using the previous version from Nexus Mods without issue.

Version 2.2.1 broke my game created with 2.2.0. It seems to get stuck in a black screen when loading. I installed version 2.2.0 the way Exoclyps described and I cant see my save games, save for some older created without any mods. Any ideas?

In your mods list, did you make sure to disable 2.2.1 so that only 2.2.0 is enabled? Sorry, I didn't think 2.2.1 had any changes in it that would break 2.2.0 games.

Damn, I really wish they made mod updates optional for players and gave me an option to notify all of my subscribers in advance when I'm going to update.

I'm just going to inform you all now that my next update will be on Friday, February 17th around 11 am EST. You should finish up any games in progress by then.

I don't think I'll be able to finish my game by then, considering my current pace.. :( Looks like my best bet is to download ver 2.2.1 manually and have it ready for manual, local loading..
