probably some of the player base mods are just not compatible well with the UCP patch which causes this.

ok, i didn't suggest to uninstall though but yeah if you don't have any other computers i do not know what else to suggest. All I know is I had the same problem, loaded the save on a different computer, it worked for some reason, its likely some of the mods were lost in doing this but it allowed to continue playing the save, which was the main goal.

ok, I tried to uninstal, the game and than install again, it dosent work. I dont have another computers to try. Mods are up to date and fresh. I try to leave only 5 basic - 5x, but it crashes again.

its possible you started with some old version of a mod and then ♥♥♥♥ got auto updated somehow which caused that.

i think part of the reason this worked is that it screwed around with the mods embedded in the game function. so by kind of freshbooting it it resolves some code threads or skips over it.

so you would do this by either loading the save from the cloud or just saving to a usb and manually swapping

I dont kinow, I made everything acording to the book and between 40 - 100 turn it just crashes. The turn is not passing to the next turn. Any ideas?

Looks like a lot things was changed. I just load my save I've made three months ago and see some difference. For examle my space factory build military outpost for 3 turns instead 2 and the advanced military outpost cost 5 turns instead 4. Besides that one of my current blueprint is overloaded now. Is there a changelog somewhere that I can read?

@ Phr0stByt3 The easiest way to recover your save is to undo the changes you made to the mod file.

As for the orion building, it is intentional that you can't build those on uber biomes. Uber biomes come with an extra building that provides more buffs. What the orion building does is basically give to gaias a similar though prehaps slightly better benefit than those received by the uber biome buildings for the player who defeats the guardian. This most benefits races that don't already have their own uber biome.

Besides the building bonuses, uber biomes differ from gaias in their pollution cleanup and food output. Gaias produce 4 average food per cell and absorb 35 pollution.
Tropical/Coral: 4.6 food & 25 cleanup
Marsh/Forest: 4.2 food & 30 cleanup
Grassland/mountainous: 3.8 food & 35 cleanup
cavernous/cybernetic: 3.4 food & 40 cleeanup

I tried adding modifying the ColonyStructureTypes.YAML file in the 5X Mod folder:

Under "structure_orion_infrastructure", I added an uber biome:

compatibleBiomes:
- biome_orion
- biome_gaia
- biome_coral_world

When I tried loading my game I got the save game warning (same as I got during the recent update), but now the game won't load. Is there a quick fix for this? I mean, I already got economic victory and am just playing for fun, but hoping to attack Antares before I let this game go.

Is it intentional that you cannot build the "unique building that can only be built on gaias and Orion" that is unlocked after defeating the Guardian on Uber Biomes? And there's no way to go from Uber Biome to Gaia either. Also... is there a comparison of Uber Biomes and Gaian biomes? Pros/Cons?

@Spud Dastardly aha OK, had a feeling it was something like that just wanted to make sure. I suppose even if you have to money having 5 battleships just magic appear every 1 turn is a bit OP.

@Narnyay Nothing further is required. Steam updates the mod automatically. If you are using Custom 5X and DSMP Assets, rerunning the installer for that will get you the missing hyper advanced chemistry tech tree icon if you care to do so.

@K.B_Martinsen I think what you're experiencing is something done in UCP and 5XCPC to fix a balance issue with the AI. The AI players can't bulk build or buy, so somewhere along the way we made a choice to limit bulk building of ships in order not to give the player a significant advantage that the AI can't use. It's also done in an effort to make it more difficult to get more ships to your front lines in order to give defending empires more of a chance to mount a defense.

I have all the mods in the order as shown above, but there is still a limit of can max build 5 ships at a time and if I build more than 1 ship I can no longer rush buy them, is this a bug?

5X will update soon on August 25 at 12 am Eastern US time. Although the new update should not entirely break in progress games, you will get a warning when you try to play with the new update. I recommend you finish any in-progress games prior to the update to avoid any disruption due to changes mid playthrough.

I didn't see this in the patch notes, but does this mod also increase Development Upkeep (for example, surveillance cost BC) and changed the way troops work in order to build troop transports?

Anyone has an issue with all Biome Tolerance being super low even on massive-sized planets, either -25 or -30 with the exception of volcanic/radiated/toxic?

not sure what the issue is there. The hyper advanced space factory is just an upgrade for the regular one, similarly to advanced space factory. What pollution cleanup facility are you referring to? Pollution processor?

Game seems to run well. But I can't the pollution clean up facility or the hyper colony ship/factory once I research it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

@Erenussocrates It takes a long time to load, several minutes, but it will load. My understanding is that the long load time is not GPU related but is instead a CPU backup caused by this game not using multi-core processing well, which is why newer and better computers don't tend to load much faster on this game.

Was it your mod that adds more galaxy size options at the start? Man, the biggest circle galaxy size still loads indefinitely even on an RTX 3080, what a disappointment.

Anyone run into an issue where when making a custom ship that the 2 hull selections have the same stats. So there is not difference between and destroyer/ironclad or cruiser/gunship. While I just play around it for now, it is making some fleet choices and designs impossible for me.

I knew UCP "unlocked" a lot, but with your 5x UBM events are common enough that I am experiencing a lot of "new stuff".

I meant to "upgrade" to 5X UBM years ago, but my life derailed. I’m “back on tracks” now and finally got to play again. I wanted to play "(UCP) vanilla" enough, to truly appreciate UBM…

I’m keenly aware of everything you’ve done. My God, if this game had released with what UCP+5XUBM do, it’d have been a complete success.

Again, thank you so much for everything. This is currently my favorite game.

UCP adds the hyperspace flux event including the unused GNN footage which was already in the files as well as several other random events. 5X increases the chances of these events appearing compared to UCP's original settings, which have them appearing quite rarely.

I've noticed I get way more in-game-events with 5X + UCP than with UCP alone; some I had never seen before (with some GNN "footage" I never saw before). Is it posible that 5X unlocks some content that UCP alone doesn't?

(For example, there's a "flux" event that prevents warp travel between star systems for many turns, and a "plague" event that affects a single colony -similar to the super nova event- which requires research to be fixed. Both I had never seen before using 5X with UCP vs using UCP only.)

The only difficulty in which the AI receives no extra bonuses is Normal.

I dont think there are good ways to make them play better without giving them bonuses. You would need to rewrite a lot for that, i guess.
as far as i know, tactical mod alters their behaviour. not sure if this does what you are looking for, but i think most likely you will not find a way to increase difficulty as much as you want without making them "cheat"

Got it finally I think. Trait screen works now as you said. now lets see if I can get through turns with the mods I hope I can use along with this.
