Military Working Dogs (MWD)
Just a few fun facts about MWDs I've learned from working around them

  • "Out" is the command given to tell the MWD to release a bit or stop a chase.
  • The MWD will sit when he smells explosives
  • The MWD will usually walk 3 to 4 meters in front of the handler on route sweeps/patrols looking for IEDs/mines/etc
  • MWDs are trained to bite and hold a person until their handler catches up and get take control of the person.
  • An MWD team ideally will approach an area containing explosives or people hiding from down wind as approaching from up wind or cross wind makes it hard for the dog to pick up the scent.

Please implement the sitting when near an IED (not close enough to set off).
Just had a try of the mod through a minefield with enemies on the other side, and my dog charged through the minefield. Albeit, he reported where the mines were before setting them off.
