Any chance you could set it so that if these researches don't appear after a good bit of time
(10 years) there will be a 50 50 chance of them appearing the next time you select an new research. because as it is now, its pretty boring :/ is there a prerequisite for these techs to appear?
Stellaris wasnt made to be played with only one or two planets for 100 years. Research speed is supposed to pick up as stations are built and planets colonized. A 0.25 research speed will be slow in the beginning but extremely fast later.
Maybe hyperdrive discovery should be an event that can occur between a certain timeframe rather then being a tech that has to be researched. This would allow players to play with whatever research speed they prefer while not having to worry about long tech research times.
There should also be a habitable planet within the players system for them to colonize and an event chain that could spark a civil war or greater unrest in the early game to add more excitement for the player.
