prepare carefully hijacks pawn generation in a way that breaks all other race mods. it doesn't seem broken until you notice pawns with bionic arms for tongues and lung cancer in their eyes. use character editor instead, it doesn't look as pretty but it does everything prepare carefully does without breaking things
