Here are some suggestions which can help you find and troubleshoot the problem:
- Check for any conflicting add-on(s) and remove it (another vocalizer or any add-on using radial menus).
- Check if you have any problematic Launch Options parameter (eg. +exec something.cfg or similar parameter launching a config file).
- Check if your config.cfg file is not read-only (otherwise game can't save key bindings).
- Check if you have autoxec.cfg (I recommend you delete it).
- Verify your game's cache files.
- Disable all other add-ons, leave only my vocalizer enabled and check if it's working then. If it is, enable add-ons one by one until you find which is causing you troubles (probably the one who automatically binds keys).
- Check if it's Steam Cloud related. Maybe it overwrites your config file with some older version from cloud or vice versa.
- Check your keyboard.
- If nothing helps, try searching for "problem binding keys" in the Discussions because it's not vocalizer related problem.
Good luck! You have to select your current character with the Character selection radial menu to be able to use its character-specific lines! If you don't select it, those 4 character-specific menus won't work. Selecting your character should be the very first thing you do when you start or join a game.
That was it. Now I get to play nick and say "Sh*thole?" while my friend playing Coach gets stuck hearing "yeah its a sh*thole" XD
